I wouldn't if I was them. Would want two top-10 picks and even then it would be a reluctant trade.Would they accept pick 6?

I know SOS is paid to fill dead air but if he genuinely thinks that a hard running, defensively orientated midfielder is not the type of player we need, then I don’t want him
anywhere near the club in any capacity again.
Sorry, missed you were a Freo supporter. Appreciate the engagement. I'll expand on my earlier 'No.'Genuine question : would Carl supporters be open to Cerra plus future 3rd or 4th for pick 6 plus Fisher?
cerra has not even proved himself yetSorry, missed you were a Freo supporter. Appreciate the engagement. I'll expand on my earlier 'No.'
I'd be open to trading Fisher, who, as I'm sure you know is a WA boy. He's got talent to burn, but has had a horrid run with injuries. I still think there's hope he'll turn into a very good player. And he has 2 years to run on his current contract.
Take it that Cerra is worth around pick 6. We don't want to pay more (in fact, we really don't want to use pick 6, but there's little other option for us), you want better than the one high pick. Fair enough. Comes down to who blinks first I guess. You run the risk that he goes to Norf for nothing. We run the risk of missing out on a player we place some value on. The issue we have is that in the past two years, we've traded out top-10 picks. It's really not good for our future development. From a holistic look at our list, it's a really bad move to trade out pick 6. But Cerra is young, and he's shown enough to say that it's worth the price.
What would make it worth it to us, is if we were able to get a secondary deal that gives us back a pick. And that's where your Fisher offer becomes interesting. However, I don't think a 3rd/4th is realistic. Instead, how about this...
Carlton: Cerra + 27
Freo: 6 + Fisher + Future 3rd (likely low 40s)
Would you go for that?
For Carlton it'd gives us 2 2nd rounders, which offers the opportunity to buy back into the first round, which I think we really need to do. I still don't like losing 6, but if Freo want more than that, I'd say send him to Norf.
Cheers.

Yeah I reckon that has a lot of merit.Sorry, missed you were a Freo supporter. Appreciate the engagement. I'll expand on my earlier 'No.'

It’s a bit hard to follow your post, so I’ve assumed the first sentence is in reference to Fisher and the second applies to Cerra?
Either way you are entitled to your opinion as am I which is that I’d be more than happy to throw in Fisher to get a deal done for Cerra.
Well, if you'd rather keep Cerra and give up Serong, we'd be happy to take him!! (was pissed you got him before us at the draft)Yeah I reckon that has a lot of merit.
Honestly I don't think Carl will have any long term regrets re pick 6 for Cerra - he is a future A grader no doubt. Mark Duffield Chief footy writer for the West has been saying for along time that he has the potential to be better than Serong and Brayshaw.
Personally I would have taken a punt on SPS too ( but I'm in the minority ). Unfortunately I can see WCE offering 49 for him.
I don't know what more he could have done - 3rd in BF last year, prob top 5 this year but that's the beauty of footy, we can all have different opinions.cerra has not even proved himself yet
Don't worry you squeezed us by the nurries to pay the max for Henry so swings and round about eh? Agree though Serong is a jet.Well, if you'd rather keep Cerra and give up Serong, we'd be happy to take him!! (was pissed you got him before us at the draft)
not worth pick 6I don't know what more he could have done - 3rd in BF last year, prob top 5 this year but that's the beauty of footy, we can all have different opinions.
not worth pick 6
what do you think he's worth?not worth pick 6
not worth pick 6
Ok makes sense.Yep, multi quote fail - will fix up the post soon.
As for the Fisher part - we can all have our opinions, but objectively your valuation is far too low. He has both proven skills as well as upside, and had been broadly recognised for this across the industry and by the media.
Fisher is worth more than a 3rd because he is young and contracted, otherwise there is no reason to consider it. With a new coach inbound he has the potential to get back to the player he was projected to be several years ago. Like a few of our younger players he has stagnated under Teague but go back to 2019 and he was one of the comps most exciting young prospects - averaged close to 20 disposals as a 19y/o and was an excitement machine. Our young talent need the opportunity to reset under a new coaching setup, they all won't make it but Fish has a real point of difference and if played to his strengths can be a player in the right setup.

I’ll be rehashing this post at the end of next season…That’s fine you are entitled to your opinion. All I see is a lightweight midfielder (76kg after 5 years on the list) with limited stamina, skills and football nous or goal sense. His only great skill is his speed which he may lose if he sustains further leg injuries.
In my view we have seen the best of Zac Fisher and it’s quite conceivable that he’ll end up a Delisted Free Agent when his current contract expires.
Pretty sure I read something similar last year.[emoji106]
He’ll show everyone next season he’s untapped talent, hopefully under a much better setup/program just how damaging he can be, take his game up another level…
If he has a great season for the Blues next season, like finish top 5 in our B&F (something he has never done), I will happily rehash my post myself and admit my error in judgment.I’ll be rehashing this post at the end of next season…
Bookmarked September 2022..
Probably would have been me amongst maybe a few others, if by some chance he has a poor year and doesn’t step up at all, with a clean run without injuries then i might finally concede…

Don’t agree with SOS, could be great replacement for Curnow or could play the role of small lockdown backman - haven’t had one for a long time and it’s been a real weakness of ours.
