Sad that we had a player hit his KPI's set by the club when many others most certainly didn't?

We should be glad about that and not happy with the ones who didn't.
The kpi was games played. Not an impressive kpi or an indicator of how well he played compared to others. Not when it happened during the season carlton dished up and the way it was managed all year.

Just watched Dow's 2021 highlights. He is the missing link in our midfield. He has attributes no one else in our midfield mix have - speed, power and evasiveness. Confidence, fitness and consistency is the key for Dow as when he is on He is difficult to tackle, powerful inside and out and can now hit targets.

Big preseason for Dow. It's shocking to think he was dropped for the last round.

You don't think they have in game KPIs they set players to hold their place in the team to reach the other seasonal KPIs set?

We had many problems this season. Newnes really wasn't one of them.

Solid without being spectacular is what we brought him in for and he gave us that.

I know it was somewhat contentious but I still think the best thing we done for Dow was drop him in the last round. His last few games were unacceptable and we needed to let him know that.

There didn't appear to be any this year. Just Teague's preference.

Cottrell (if his name was Silvagni he wouldn't even be on that list) he's got just as much passion for the club as the for mentioned.
He's quick got a huge tank goes in hard, when he realizes the game is not quite as quick as he thinks it is he will be gem.
He's got all the qualities that says he will make it, so he's worth persisting for me .

all the qualities except the ability to actually play the game.. trying hard is not good enough if we want to be a top 4 side..

I'll be surprised if any of them are on the list in 2023.
Each of them have had moments where they have showed something, but many more where they have been invisible.

the question I have for us all is what would you/ we accept as a trade for these guys this trade period?

dow 25?
lob 35?
cunningham 35-40

to make omelettes you got to break eggs.

If they were demanding a trade that is probably about right, however at that price I wouldn’t want to trade them, more valuable to us trying to get another year from them and turn it around.. I think we would struggle to get35 for LOB though.

My personal question / benchmark is can i see that player fitting into that Melbourne side last weekend. Weirdly i have both dow and lob as yeses. Cunners unfortunately is a no

Apparently he was tight with Walsh last preseason. If he can have another season mirroring Walsh this could turn into two elite quarters. Last season he had games where he had 15 disposals by quarter time. That shows a lot of potential to me. The entire club had great first quarters but fell away. Imagine if Dow was on 25-30 by halftime. That’s enough for me. I don’t see him as a player that can slow down. I think he needs to go hard early like he has been. This will help him improve his fitness.

It was not that long ago that question marks were on stocker ,give these guys a decent system and we won’t be talking about them as busts
Don't waste your time. We could have the AA team in navy and the bleaters would still be at it.

If Voss & Power can’t develop Paddy to his maximum potential no one will.
Season 2022, will be a crucial & critical evaluation process for whomever survives current list clean out.

We have just the inquisitors and hangmen for the job!

Another critical clog in player development obviously is Russell, our rotational midfielders lack aerobic capacity, so stints in the backline , or forward line.
I know they can’t all be as professional as Sam Walsh, but
hopefully all our coaching experts are communicating well & extract the best form our youngsters, first & foremost.

What was the other 95% of his game time like?

Youd probably get a second rounder for Dow, third rounders for the other two, if that.
