Fair.

O'Brien can't halve contests. Dow is gassed by quarter time. Cuners is in ACL rehab. All have elite attributes outweighed by multiple red flags. If one of them becomes a serious player it's a win from here.
Gun > Gunner
Run > Runner
Cuningham > Cunners
... otherwise it's 'que - ners'
...as you were :p

From https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/thre...list-and-contract-status.368412/post-72441920 - btw great job and thank Aphrodite for keeping all these threads up to date :D

2022 List consists of
:-

35 Senior players
4 Category A Rookies
1 SSP Rookie
2 MSD Rookies
0 Category A International Rookie
1 Category B International Rookie
0 Category B Rookies

So where are we with numbers?
Assuming Cerra to come in, we'll have 36 Senior players.

How many do we need still to delist now?

I'm assuming that Newnes, Gibbons and Cottrell (rookie) will be delisted
and unfortunately one of LOB or SPP will be traded

That's 3 senior spots and one rookie spot opened.
That's enough to go into the national draft - right?

2021
4. Lochie O'Brien
5. Sam Petrevski-Seton
32.
Jack Newnes
33. Sam Ramsay
39. Oscar McDonald (SSP Rookie)
40. Michael Gibbons (Promoted to Snr list)
44. Matthew Owies (Cat B International Rookie) - (to be retained as a Cat B Rookie)
46. Matthew Cottrell (2nd yr rookie)

Riley Beveridge said Newnes had hit a games-played trigger for a contract extension next year.

SPS traded, Gibbo, Cottrell and Parks delisted, maybe Ramsay, McDonald probably depends on how his back is. Owies stays unless there are two CatB players we really want.

Thanks for the info.

SPS is traded already - no way back after chat with Voss?
Parks - from the link I thought he was contracted till 2022
Ramsay - hasn't had much of chance, I would prefer to keep him

Newnes - hmmmm that's a bit of a problem
McDonald - fair enough, but he is on the rookie list though

So what are the minimum set of delistings that we'll still need to do prior to the National Draft?

Parks is a rookie, so it's year by year

On CPH1877 using BigFooty.com mobile app

1. Murphy - retired
2. Casboult - delisted
3. SPS - traded WCE
4. Gibbons - ? possible re rookie
5. Ramsay - ? possible rookie
6. Marchbank - ACL rookie list
7. Newnes - possible contract trigger ?
*. O’Brien - uncontracted ?

8. Betts - retired rookie
9. Parks - ? rookie
10. Boyd - ? rookie
11. Cottrell - ? rookie
12. McDonald - ? rookie

32 senior list spots taken
6 available 7 if Newnes isn’t retained, if so then one/few others possibly traded or put on rookie list…

1. Cerra - Fremantle 2025 4years
2. Hewett - Sydney 2025 4years

4/6 rookies spots and 1 cat B rookie

1. Honey - 1 year contract 2022
2. Kennedy - 1 year contract 2022
3. Marchbank - ACL injury onto list 2022
4. Mirkov - 18 month contract 2022
5. Owies - CatB rookie contract 2022

Long Post Alert...

Thought I'd measure this years midfield, against our probable 2022 midfield and then against Melbourne's 2021 Premiership midfield..
Used career totals so the stats are what to expect at a minimum..

Yes game plans and different coaching will play a difference...
Yes other metrics aren't visible through stats, our updated midfield has really improved here, 2 way running, effort, drive & leadership...

We are a couple of years younger than Melbourne as a whole, then we are behind on all other metrics...
Our midfield needs more accumulators, with good KE and who can take some ground with disposal...

Dow and Pittonet really let us down in this department, (I'm a Dow #1 fan) but if good offers came, I'd entertain it..
We are believing in this myth, his junior talent seems a long way away... Dow's 2021 season stats are actually worse than his careers averages.

I’m not sure this is worth the time it took you

People watch highlights and conveniently forget its the best picked footage.
This.

Highlight reels are useful for an overview of the type of player you're looking at. No good at all for determining if a player is any good. Even Josh Bootsma would have had a decent highlight reel. I fear that all too often in the past our recruiting teams has drafted from highlight reels instead of doing the drudge work and watching full matches. I hope the current team isn't like that - although this year presents a lot of difficulties in that regard.

Pity non of it was related to footy never mind it was NSFW.
