Matt Rendell you were wrong, GWS and GC have not won several premierships between them....

It is staggering that after all those draft concessions that either club wasn't able to turn top end talent into a premiership team

Yeah. GWS make a GF but then nothing (bit like us!), meanwhile Suns need huge injections of priority picks to prop them up.

With their talent and Dew the Suns are probably under way, whereas GWS are leaking talent and stuck with Cameron

Both wasted far too many early picks, plus they lost quality players for cents in the dollar.

El cheapo football departments haven't helped either, particularly coaching and fitness and conditioning. Brisbane suffered from the same issue.

GC need proven talent. Teenagers will just compound the problem. If AFL wants them to seriously compete, they’ll find a way to get a Pendlebury, Boak, Selwood up there

It definitely happened in 2017, the year of Shuey. Didn't beat someone sitting in the 8 all year I reckon, finished 5th and got booted when Shuey dropped the knees and converted after the siren. We made the GF but I still reckon that was close to the best moment of the whole year.
I am almost certain Port did not beat a top 8 side for the entire 2017 season. On that most hilarious night when Shuey kicked a goal after the siren of extra time to defeat them in that elimination final, one person on this board said 'Pesky top 8 sides!'

Absolute cracker of a night and some hilarious posts on this board. Good times.

They beat West Coast in Perth earlier in the year but that was it, and they scraped into the 8 on % with 2 late goals against us to knock Melbourne out (who Port also lost to).

We should be targeting one of the elite GWS players with a big offer (Kelly?)

They will want to leave. Cameron is the worst. It would be a great opportunity.

Josh Kelly isn't young enough

Jacob Hopper is out of contract though

At least GC look to be turning a corner now. They were going nowhere with dinosaur Rocket at the helm, players were still leaving left, right and centre and the culture was non-existent. Dew has developed a rapport with the new young playing group and you can tell it's made a difference. Players are now re-signing with them, and their beltings look to be a thing of the past. The Giants, on the other hand, are hanging on to someone who has no idea about how to build relationships, and have (and are still) bleeding talent. If they are to get anywhere, they need to get rid of Cameron this year, rebuild and start again like the Suns have, who finally look to be heading in the right direction.

It’s a good thing that Simon Goodwin has two shoulders, because he’ll be looking over both of them.

Favourite son Adem Yze has positioned himself well for the future, and Choco isn’t exactly the least competitive person when it comes to his own advancement 😄

Always good to have a game within a game to watch

Are Melbourne finally good? Or have they got lucky early on?

Freo, the Saints and an injury-hit Giants (who are shit anyway) isn't much of a sample size. We'll find out more about where they really sit when they play Geelong, Richmond and Sydney in the next month and a bit (their other games are against Hawthorn and North which should be wins).

Brad makes sides shitter

Ill never forget that day. I was in Rome waiting to get into the Coliseum. Met another Crow supporters and watch the end on their phone. We let out a massive cheer on that goal. Got some funny looks from the crowd.

One player I would always want in my side is Shannon Hurn. Never makes a mistake and always finds his player. SA boy we never tried to get back.

Yeah I always thought his predictions would be way off.
Gws have done things fairly right and made a GF but got smashed.
