Peaking during a COVID year is like being the best performed team member at work when the boss is away on leave.

Hopefully an omen that Port will revert back to mid-table mediocrity, but I don't see that happening.

They gave $900K per season for 5 years to B.Hill but couldn't offer $150K more per season to B.Crouch who would be well a head of Hill in their B&F.....you get what you deserve.

Saints are now 2 and 3 and their percentage is 71.4

I'd argue that history suggests they're not playing finals this year

I'd even go as far as predicting that Geelong and Brisbane will replace us and Carlton and that will be the final 8.

Brad Hill really should be in the top five of Mofra's bottom 50. Seedsman is a better player and half of us want him traded.

Seed is way harder at the ball, can play stints as an inside mid and can also tackle. Amazing what they’re paying Hill.

Billings is another high-pick bust. Imagine if the Saints had drafted Bont and Petracca instead of him and McCartin?

Bit of a gap in the quality of opponent. Port applied a sh*t load of pressure whereas the Saints have offered nothing of the sort.

The difference between the saints best and worst this year is staggering considering how they recruited and where they came last year

I wonder if there's any correlation between success and the amount of core players that a club drafted and developed. Feels like the more mercenaries a club gets in, the worse they get.

In contrast clubs like Richmond and Hawthorn are built on elite cores they drafted, topped up during their flag run with trades from other clubs.

Brisbane might be having a similar issue. Think they took their eye off their list build too early.

That's what happens when you improve too fast - you need that extra year of being bottom two for the elite picks that form your future core.

Otherwise you miss out on pick 2 because you've got pick 10.

Lachie Neale turning back into Clark Kent has hurt them and they've they've overcompensated a tad with Daniher being up forward and are bombing it in way more than they did previously. They've gone from one of the best I50 retention teams to one of the worst (an area we've done a complete 180 on).

Saints and North are my 1 and 2 teams to get the boot from the league. Imagine only having 1 flag that you won 55 years ago by a point. How many of their supporters were old enough to properly enjoy a premiership win? Would be in their 70s if they were able to get on the piss.

Saints and North are two teams that didn't change from being VFL teams. VFL level operators. Let them play in the VFL and leave the AFL to the professionals.
