KFC is the most overrated junk food.

It has always tasted sh*t.

On the few occasions I've had it, I've taken notice of the famous spices bullshit...it is virtually tasteless. It tastes like the old fat it's cooked in. Disgusting stuff.

Nuggets - you have to be completely ******* daft to get stuck into rolled up chicken skin deep fried in swill.

I swear I spat out half a chicken beak on one occasion.

Same.

Al Pacinos & Chicken Chef.

Also, have some great Indian restaurants.

Prefer to pay more to have food that tastes like food.
I've never tried chicken chef, theres a few around from memory.

Not sure if they are all the same quality, but my local one has been family run for over a decade. Also, do the best chips of all the fish n chips/chicken shops near me.

I've got a decent choice of chicken shops, they all do a really good job.

I’ve heard that about their chips from tons of people. Have to admit that when I tried them, they didn’t live up to the hype. Not terrible, but not special.

This was 5+ years ago, though.

Always remember the Chicken Chef Schnitzel hotpack being ridiculous - could easily feed two. Still can't find the same quality offering in Victoria.

Best chips I ever had were from the Amberlight Deli in Lobethal about 20 years ago. No consistency though, one week they could be ordinary then the next, absolutely superb

The "Guzzi dog" hotdog is what I usually get when I go there. Loaded with jalapenos and hot sauce.

I had a local fish n chip shop down the end of my street run by a very nice Greek couple. They had awesome chips. Sadly, they sold out after they built the business up and the new owners changed it into a pizza joint of sorts.

We should be teaching kids in schools how to cook tasty healthy food, so they don't need to rely on unhealthy take aways.

There should be a super tax on unhealthy foods & soft drinks.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha Sorry, were you not a kid?

Think about it, what are kids going to think when they are taught to cook a healthy stir fry..."Oh boy, thanks, I'll never crave Maccas again". Kids don't rely on take away, they enjoy it, it is a choice.

Of course, with the current tone of this thread I am sure I will be replied to by ten people claiming their kids would never eat take away

Always happens when businesses change hands. Can remember some years back going to what was a weird hybrid of chicken ‘n chips and Thai food. Over the years it eventually changed to a Thai restaurant which was quite good, but there was a period where you could get a quarter chicken and chips with a green papaya chilli salad instead of the usual potato/coleslaw offering.

Some Fusion restaurants are ok. Unique flavours.

I was.

We had a weekly class where we would cook a 4 course meal for each Wednesday lunch for teachers & also we enjoyed the spoils. At the end of the term, we spent our profits to go out to a quality restaraunt like Rigonis.

I learnt to appreciate making great food of all different cuisines... & still love cooking today, but now I use more alcohol ;)

Highly recommend this cooking class with a partner.

I wish or hope the current school curriculum have mandatory cooking classes. I know a lot of kids that dont eat crap, like fast food.

Rigonis is lovely. I have dined there a few times.

Indeed - it's about establishing good healthy habits early.

Unfortunately Rigonis closed within the last year which is sad as was as good as it gets for local Italian food.

Did a Vietnamese cooking class when went overseas last time & really enjoyed their food. Can't get enough chilli & flavours.

Funnily enough... my son and most (not all) of his 19 year old mates are all health nuts. Gym junkies, clean eating and no drinking or drugs. Never happened in my day! 🤣
