IIRC Foxtel was trying to push for a genuine competitive 2nd tier competition to be played mid week.

I can't see the interest being there. Thursday night footy seems to have a future in the AFL. Do we really want footy every night though?

Feature games from the state league each week. I can see it now, Mon night is VFL night, Tues is SANFL and a WAFL game every Wed.

Agreed, but the media revenue will outweigh the atttendance revenue .......there's a real thirst for more sports content by Australian Free to air media

This was sorta what happened in the 2000’s with ‘Fox Footy Extra’. They’d replay the ABC match from the VFL, WAFL, and SANFL once a week.

When Fox stopped doing this, ABC2 continued this for a few seasons.

Then there’s sponsorship. Centrals boycotted the Foxtel Cup because of the lack of exposure their sponsors would get in the competition.
