Just thinking about this further...as a club I reckon we should really start to push for one showdown a year. My logic? We dont need to keep buying into THEIR rilvary...to us it should be nothing else than just another game. We also dont need the extra showdown from a revenue or interest point of view...we already can sell out our games and have corporate sponsors. This game means far more to them, so really and truly stuff them...

the
repeat the creed 50 times while being flogged

anyway, chalk up someone else who doesn't get the difference between jealousy and envy
they stole the idea for a march from Rundle Mall to AO from this Bigfooty board.

They are good t using other peoples ideas and calling it their own.

at least booing injured players and throwing Bananas at indigenous players is a uniquely Port Adelaide Thing.

In the new video up on AFL.com with Crows and Port player talking about the showdown and previous showdowns there's definitely a difference between Crows and Port players in how they talk about it.
Crows players saying it's a great rivalry, it has a finals like atmosphere, it's a hard contest no matter where we're placed on the ladder, I love playing in the showdown.
Port players were like have to win to rub it my mates face, nothing better than beating the crows, as the smaller of the two clubs in a two team town we just have to win.

Says alot about both clubs mentality around this game.
Some of us didn't really like it at the time, but Craigy's "just another game" mentality would've fit in perfectly against their recent chest puffing.

It's all a big show and dance but would be good to counteract their rubbish with a player/coach just answering a Showdown question with "It means a lot to them but they are no more special to us than any other team. This week's 4 points are worth the same as last week's." Admittedly this tactic probably works best when you're actually a chance of getting the 4 points.

The only thing I can think of that I'm jealous of Port is that they are immune to any form of criticism or scrutiny in the media. About abnything - finals record since 2007, finances, player behaviour etc.

I would expect that this article will be everywhere in our rooms tomorrow

That is because, outside of Adelaide at least, they are irrelevant (like the Dockers, Kangas, Suns)....thus no one cares to actually critique their "performance" over the last 20 years accurately. Also, it doesnt help that, for god knows what reason, the media of Adelaide is littered with ex Port players and tragics...

Port need to give their players a full induction to teach them the ways in which they do not like the Adelaide Crows.

We just let Port be Port and the disdain happens more naturally.
Nek minnut its our fault that Port can't wear their sh*tty prison bar guernsey... *insert more hate*

Some good points, but no one has mentioned Hartlett's drumming after a win as just another thing.
How can you not be jealous of this club?

Guilty as charged, potato looking object.
I seem to remember some of his team mates talking him up like "He's a drummer in his free time and it's something he's brought in from that." Then I saw the clip of him drumming (after beating the 17th ranked team by 6 goals) and he had the co-ordination and timing of an orangutan.

He literally just stood there bashing the drum with both sticks simultaneously at speeds that don't match the song. You'd have been forgiven for thinking it was his first time ever seeing a drum.

Port football boss Chris Davies said on local radio on Friday morning that the Crows had "professional jealousy" of their crosstown rivals, but Nicks, a former assistant at the Power, wouldn't be drawn on the comments ahead of the contest, which will see the biggest crowd at Adelaide Oval since 2019.

"It's a big call," he said.

Nice straight bat there Matthew....

I don't think it's going to be too big of a loss for them because after three years they finalised realised that playing Wines and Rockliff together doesn't work.

I said it from day one when they got him that there's only so much inside ball to be won and they'd just take possessions off each other.

Can someone explain to me what this “Chris Davies” thing is about in 50 words or less
He is a dickhead.... so don't waste your time on him.
