If we only draft (don't trade anyone in), and we lose Melksham and Jones, that is a bit of cap relief.

After seeing Woey in the rooms after the game, I wonder if Taj will nominate father-son? It seems like he is fringe to be drafted but it would be nice.

Nah, recruiters think pick 40 odd, which means we basically get him for free. Has had a big finish to the year which bumps his value up.

Not sure he will be a gun or not, but he's bloody dedicated to the cause.

You'd think they'd give them a heads up beforehand, or they probably realise that if they don't have a contract by this point of the season and are well behind in the pecking order...
Still, would be tough to take rn.

Also Nev just retired :'(

Sad Vanders is gone, but his body is cooked.

The rest were making up numbers at the poker table and keeping the rehab staff employed.

Does this mean we have 3 list spots for some waifs and strays?
Means we have 6 spots for them.

Draft order

Retired:
Nathan Jones, Neville Jetta

Delisted:
Aaron vandenBerg, Austin Bradtke (CatB), Aaron Nietschke, Jay Lockhart, Kye Declase, Marty Hore

Added:
Luke Dunstan (Unrestricted FA, St Kilda)

List Spots (18/10):
6 (4 main, 2 rookie)

Goodwin was on Fox earlier talking about it. Exit interviews today, AFL requirement that they're done by Wednesday. Seems like it was out of the club's hands.

Interesting changes and there are guys like Mitch Brown, Daw, Declase likely being kept on?

Declase deserves to be kept on I think. Will be good to see what he can do with a preseason under his belt. Wonder if Brown might retire?

We don't have a heap of high picks this year (Obviously :drunk:) so they probably would rather keep a few guys on than draft 3 players after 50.

So apart from the delistings Melk is apparently open to a trade but we will see what happens there.

Hard to know what our needs really are - a small defender probably the biggest priority and maybe a developmental KPF?

I agree. A small defender, with speed. Or a project key defender who is 195cm+ for life after May. A key forward may also be worth it considering McDonald is slowing down, Weideman is hit and miss and brown isn't super young.

We're about to start living in a different world where all the Free Agents suddenly want to play for us instead of Geelong or Richmond. Hopefully we use it wisely and sparingly and keep going to the draft and letting Taylor do his thing.

Nah free agents can get stuffed, if they didn't want in before, it's too late now!!! 😂

Think it'll be a fairly quite trade period. Wouldn't be surprised if are just hoping to gain a few more picks to take to the draft.

No one in the Free agent list that really sticks out for our list.

The age profile of the list is in good shape. I'd make re-signing key players a priority as I feel a cap squeeze coming soon.

We have 3x million dollar players between Clarry, Trac and Jackson. Sparrow, Bowey, SGTR and Pickett deserve more than what we are paying them now too.

Keen to do more frantic flipping of future picks because we love that and it usually works out for us.
Might be slightly harder now that teams won't expect us to fall in a heap again, but agree we should look at this. We'll have 4-5 spots on the list to fill and while we've been good with picks between 30-50 of late another late first/early 2nd would be handy.

I’m more worried about them having the Hawthorn chat with these boys- we keep Jacko and a couple of others and our age profile could have us crack at 4+ flags which is just amazing
