The Toby Nankervis trade in 2016

The 22-year-old played 12 games in his three years in Sydney, playing 7 games in 2016.
Swans received pick No.46 in return for the talented big man.

Listening to offers for pick 1 is interesting...I wonder if a deal with GWS and Crows would be on the cards.
North lose pick one
North gain Pick 2 (Callaghan) & Crows 2022 1st (most likely top 5)
Giants gain Crows pick 4 (Mac Andrew) and Kangas pick 20
Crows gain pick 1 (Horne)
Crows Lose Pick 4 and 2022 first rouder...
who says no ? All clubs might get their preferred player if North are worried about Horne go home factor.
So we pay pick 20 and down grade pick 1 for a future 1st? Pass

Not the worst proposal I've seen.

I don't give a toss about the other clubs so for north:

Best case position -

2021: #2
2022: #1

Worst case position -

2021: #2
2022: #18

Likely position -
2021: #2
2022: #4-10

Too volatile for insufficient gain. And that's me considering it with #1 only. Losing #20 as well? Absolutely no deal.

Oh I didn't know that.
cheers.
No worries, I think the Nank deal is our best example

Nank - drafted at pick 35 , 22 years old , played a total of 12 games over 3 years including 7 in 2016, traded for pick 46
CCJ - drafted at pick 20 , 22 years old, played a total of 9 games over 4 years including 8 in 2021, traded for ???

Nice work by above posters regarding ruck trades.
luff is all over this, 20 is going nowhere.
I will sleep easily tonight.
This is such a welcome change to we are going to pay buggerlugs a million bucks.

Yup and if we are subtracting taz. 38 seems a really good deal for the tigers.

Luff, in the interview mentioned about use of the PSD.

"Hopefully it doesn't get to that point. We don't want to use that to get him through the door. We're pretty comfortable that we'll get something done."
Luffy isn't playing games...

Let's go to the points.

Our Pick 1 and 20 this year, which will probably end up being 1 and 23 after F/S/Academy picks equates to 3,000 + 815 = 3,815

Your proposal to drop down to Pick 2, which becomes Pick 4 after F/S picks along with Adelaide's 2022 pick, which could be top 5 but with the chance of improvement in their performance (Thirthorpe with a preseason and JHF hitting the ground running) along with possible F/S/Academy picks getting in the way could see that pick dropping to 10 but let's say 8. That's 2,034 + 1,551 = 3,585.

So we are comfortably worse off with this trade and we've let a potential generational player slip through our fingers. Hard pass.

I still think it's too much when Tarrant is factored in.

Richmond potentially walk away with Tarrant, #38 and #45 (Chol) after it all settles.

We gain CCJ for #38 AND Tarrant while forgoing our own chance at compo. Putting the PSD pistol aside, they still need to provide an incentive to trade rather than delist Tarrant and there's none in that deal.

Thought exactly the same. Need it to be perfect scenario and ADL finish 18th to even be adequate. No upside. Give up 1 and 20 to get 2 and a maybe. I'd shoot Luff myself.

2022 Darcy Moore it is then. You beauty.
