Twomey made a good point. Pick 20 is probably a little early to draft for need.

Maybe.

But as a tie breaker it's certainly not.

It's not as if taking one of the CHB's would be viewed as a massive reach.

We have one of the largest collections of young talent in the league, we can afford to start filling out specific positions.

Do you really think we will take the best available midfielder at 20 if available? Highly unlikely.

It's going to be a CHB, HBF or Small Forward. So whilst we might take the best available, it will be from a pool of those 3 positions.

I'm not 100% certain that we wouldn't take the best available midfielder at 20, if someone we rated in the top 10 was available.

Particularly if we rank the available KPD's, HBF's or SF's at 20-40.

I'm not suggesting that we should do this, I just can see it playing out like this.

I think we'd be better off drafting a running HBF at 20, which is just as much of a need as a KPD. One of Wilmot, Chesser, Goater, even Sinn if we trade up a few places. If we really want Bazzo/Alleer we could probably trade a future 3rd into this year.

But JVR and Bazzo possibly project there anyhow

All Im hearing is Goddard and Dal Santo dribble.

Is he on after them at 12?

I have a legitimate question.

How did a non premiership winning team get so many players into the media?

Riewoldt, Dale Santos, Montagna, the Seagull

0 flags between them.

Yet all have media gigs.

So Richmond gets Tarrant, Chol compo and pick 38?
God you'd hope CCJ was the next Sean Darcy/Nic Nat.
Big Rip considering we can just walk him to the PSD.

I believe all were managed by Tom Petroro at one point who has pretty deep Media connections. Roo isn't too bad but the rest are bog average imo, Montagna in particular is a Lemon.

Luff, in the interview mentioned about use of the PSD.

"Hopefully it doesn't get to that point. We don't want to use that to get him through the door. We're pretty comfortable that we'll get something done."

If we are going to part 38 for CJJ you would think that the deal would be:
38 + Tarrant for CJJ and something else (Chol compo)
Sorry for the intrusion
Listening to offers for pick 1 is interesting...I wonder if a deal with GWS and Crows would be on the cards.
North lose pick one
North gain Pick 2 (Callaghan) & Crows 2022 1st (most likely top 5)
Giants gain Crows pick 4 (Mac Andrew) and Kangas pick 20
Crows gain pick 1 (Horne)
Crows Lose Pick 4 and 2022 first rouder...
who says no ? All clubs might get their preferred player if North are worried about Horne go home factor.
