I really liked his career. Should have been Norm Smith the one year ( can’t remember which of the three 😳) IMO.
Has he got anything left in the tank though?
Think he does actually. A good, solid citizen as well. I worked in the Docklands 2018-2021 and saw him jogging around often off season.

Who cares if we disrespect Fold Coast.

they aren't respected by anyone in the football industry.

A fake plastic club with no support apart from AFL administrators who have making them viable a KRA on their PRD so they can get their fat bonuses.

Where was the respect for the St.Kilda fans when Ben King indicated he wanted out of GC after two years and the AFL came and and rorted the SC with 'ambassador' money to basically make a 20 y.o one of the highest paid players in the game and deny the 55,000 Saints members the chance to see him in our colours?

Fold Coast is a basket case and a money pit. they can't manage their books and have 38 contracted players currently on their books. The need to make three mandantory changes to their list and have committed to Chol.

That means there will be a fire sale of under performing players on over inflated contracts.

So nope no respect for them. All they have done is the drain the competition of talent and are a farce. But I am sure the AFl will keep pouring millions into them and keep screwing over the smaller clubs like they did with Kings contract.

100%.
Think of the players we missed from the compromised drafts when we were near the bottom of the ladder. Nope. No sympathy. Sorry.

I doubt we go down the aging DFA's route again this year unless it's maybe a key defender.

Doesn't sound like we've shown any interest in Talia though.

We will no doubt have to fill spots with at least one or 2 DFA's but I think we'll look at younger types.
Reckon we will hold onto a spot for the mid-season draft again.

Wood just turned 28 so I dont think he is comparable to a Frawley and McKernan as an 'ageing has-been'.

He’s certainly showed more than the other two put together.

imagine if tassie come in, hopefully WCE Richmond Hawthorn Geelong are all at the bottom of the ladder during that period and feel the pain

Ben just needs to tell the Suns (via his manager of course) he's considering transitioning to becoming a woman and that he's just discovered LSD. He also wants to go back to Melbourne to spend time with his mum who will understand and support him. Oh, and yes, he wants to be traded to StKilda. Maybe throw in something about identifying with the Wachowskis (Matrix directors/creators). Then a future second rounder becomes a thing !

So we could have a great King forward in both our men’s and women’s teams!
Imagine that! 🤣

does anyone know when the various windows open? i.e. free agency/trade etc.

He handed out a doctors certificate to interstate clubs saying he couldn’t play interstate

Yep, and our first rounder Jamie Cripps high-tailed it back to the west the first chance he got. Don’t think we got a fortune in compensation for him and the AFL certainly didn’t help us out with any payments to keep him . If Ben wants to come back home after 4 years, so be it.
Isn’t the first and won’t be the last.

I think we were one of the hardest hit clubs with those drafts.

2010 we get pick 15 with no talent going to the gold coast via pre draft crap maybe then pick 15 would get us a Prestia or Lynch
2011 we get pick 12 and that gets us a Toby Greene or a Devon Smith
2012 we do not trade our first round pick to GWS, we get the chance to draft a Grundy, or Vlaustin.

Would have made us better across the teen years in the last decade
