We just re-signed him to two years.

Is he any slower than Lyons or Neale?
Than Neale ??

Neale gets it an awful lot and seems to find his way clear often enough for someone that's slow.

Besides which Matho isn't remotely in their class . But we have resigned him .Hmm.

I think what thedigger is seeing is that Matho is really slow to do something with the ball when he does get it and coughs it up. Whereas Lyons and particularly Neale are very clever in summing it up and offloading. Generally.

Bombers i imagine might come asking for the 2 x 1sts

Say 14,18,50 for 11 and their 2022 1st

Trade makes no sense for us. We'd end up losing that future first or have to trade it for points to match bids for Ashcroft.

Even if we win the premiership next year, we'd only need 700 or so points to match a pick 1 bid for Ashcroft, something we're better off working out next year by trading out our first or future picks to get more points.

On Neale, I’m surprised no one really says it, but he’s just as good as McClugagge in slowing the game down and finding those openings or space in congestion.

Yes Neale and Lyons are better players than Mathieson, but bloke said to trade Matho because he’s slow. I was just pointing out he’s not the only slow player in the squad.

We could trade out the Bombers 2022 first next year for a 2023 first

Noble leaving us is a disaster. What is going on at North is fantastic, they are getting the right people and players into the system. Norths performance was greatly improved with him at the helm. There will more improvement in 2022 with him there. Very active. It looks as though we are going to sit on our backsides, watch and hardly do anything. Cannot see us improving in 2022 by having a reactive approach to obtain quality players. Most will say we have the players but Rayner and Co have not played for a season - are they going to be good?. Is Hipwood going to come back any good? - there are many question marks over a lot of players mentioned that are needed for us to improve. One or Two might improve greatly but alot won't. We need some good player injection to go the next step. We are not winning in finals!

Short answer no. But when your disposal is worse then the 2 you mentioned. Kinda leaves a question mark over him.

I actually like mathison for his bullishness unfortunately I think if we are to improve next year he won't be in the team or on the cusp. He will be surpassed.

Lachie seems too classy to do a dayne beams and say he is staying then leave. Doubt the club would be pushing the issue. We're in a window and that could shut very quickly

Pretty sure it was Sam McClure who broke the news of him coming to us initially.
So he may be in the loop in some way.
Although I do think he seems to be a bit more of a ‘Man if his word’ than Beams.

You could probably lump Simon Black into the slow category too :D

Neale would have to be one of the best one touch players we have had at our club, what hampered him this year was his injury that from my view took away much of his lateral agility.

When fit & firing he reminds me a bit of Chris Johnson with his evasiveness.

Not quite as evasive as Jarred Brennan though. Pretty hard for the opposition to know what you're going to do when you don't know yourself ;)

🤔🤔🤔

This is classic Fox Sports clickbait. More than half their articles are based on a tweet/insta post/soundbite and subsequent tweet/insta post/soundbite reaction to initial tweet/insta post/soundbite. Anyone thinking this is an exaggeration just has to scroll through that site and count the number of headlines with quotes in them.

Nothing new in that. What's sad is that I gave that prick Rupert some money just having to click to read it. Perhaps in future we could post the relevant quotes.

I agree that Noble was a massive loss and has been a fantastic appointment at North. But keen to hear you expand on your thoughts in regards to a couple of the other points you raised if you don't mind? Not having a crack, but a couple of genuine questions...

Who are you referring to when you say Rayner and co? Who are the players that you think will not improve? (You said there will be a lot of them, but that's a pretty general comment). How do you propose we find the cash to inject more good players this season?

Was he? And is he?

Heart & soul shinboner Robbie Tarrant has jumped ship. First cracks starting to show. Fabric of the club starting to unravel ;)
