List Mgmt. 2021 Young Talent Time

Yeah in the article the AFL released of all the NGA eligible players Pickett was not included, which sucks because he fits our needs.

Jacques is an interesting one, he's been talked up a lot by EF people, and he even got a colts berth as a 16 year old but he hasn't played any official WAFL matches since. Hasn't been spotted in the practice matches yet either, hopefully he gets a call up, seems to be talented.

Tristan Jacques quit “pro” footy last year or the year before. He plays amateur colts football for willetton football club. Saw him play against Mundijong Colts a few weeks back isn’t as good as he is talked about but he is built like a brick shithouse

Ahh disappointing, thanks for the update

Hate to ask Dale147 but these articles mention Freo NGA players...

West Perth has become a defensive footy factory in recent years, with the weekend’s AFL action living proof.
Prized Fremantle draftee Heath Chapman and second-year Brisbane Lion Jaxon Prior both made their AFL debuts in the space of 48 hours in a proud couple of days for the Falcons.
Ben Johnson is another young backman drafted out of West Perth in the past two years, while his West Coast teammate and 2017 draftee Oscar Allen has shown he can play at both ends of the ground.
So who’s next?
“We’ve got a couple to look out for,” West Perth colts coach Ryan Lasscock said.
“Zach Fleiner has been going really well at half-back and Luke Michael, as a 17-year-old, has been outstanding at centre-half back. He’s a bit undersized but he’s been very good down there.
“They’re probably the two that we hope would push up at some stage.”
Lasscock praised colts defensive coach Adam Radici for his efforts in developing some quality stoppers over the past three years.
“Adam Radici has been our backs coach, this is his fourth year now, and he’s the one that’s done all the work with them,” Lasscock said.
“I leave it to him and he’s been outstanding. We’ve had a pretty good group down there so it’s pretty exciting.”
Midfielder-forward Lochie Paton, part of WA’s Talented Player Program squad, is another primed for a big year.
“He can take a really good catch around the ground, his marking is very good,” Lasscock said.
“He pushed forward at times at the weekend (against Subiaco) and could’ve walked away with a big day.”

Hot 2022 draft prospect Kane Bevan, who spent last season down back, has been turned into a forward by Lasscock with liking what he’s seen so far.
“We’ve thrown him forward and he’s been great,” Lasscock said.
“His own self review at the weekend was that he thought he was average, but he still had four or five shots on goal and created a couple so if that’s a bad day for him, I can’t wait to see him on a really good day.”
Bevan is one of several bottom-agers in the mix for a State call-up for the national under-17s carnival.
“If we’re playing OK, we could have four or five in that State 17s program,” Lasscock said.
“Kane Bevan, , Luke Michael and even guys like Jasper Scaife, Jye Scender and Clayton Taylor who are 17-year-olds that could potentially step up as well.”
Scaife, a 196cm key forward with an elite kick, and Indigenous goalsneak Taylor are in Fremantle’s Next Generation Academy.
It means the Dockers will get first dibs on the pair in next year’s national draft, providing they don’t get snapped up by a rival AFL club in the top-40 picks.
West Perth’s colts campaign gets underway against South Fremantle at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Saturday morning.
The match will be streamed live and exclusive on thewest.com.au from 9.10am.

Claremont
Campbell Rogers
From: Marist JFC
Age: 17
Height: 192cm
Weight: 82kg
Position: Half-back/midfielder
Campbell Rogers is the younger brother of Claremont league regular Bailey who has plenty of similar traits.
Rogers spent the majority of his bottom-age colts year in the Tigers’ backline but is likely to get increased midfield minutes in 2021.
The 17-year-old missed Claremont’s finals charge last season because of a back issue but will be good to go for round one against Swan Districts.

East Fremantle
Jack Williams
From: Rossmoyne JFC
Age: 17
Height: 195cm
Weight: 91kg
Position: Key forward/defender
Jack Williams started last year as a key back before getting switched to attack by East Fremantle colts coach Adrian Ricciardello. He looks right at home at either end of the ground.
In his first three games as a forward, the 193cm talent booted eight goals including 4.2 against fellow finalists West Perth in round six.
He didn’t miss a game as a bottom-ager and was rewarded with State under-18s selection, kicking an equal game-high three majors for WA Gold in the finale.
Ricciardello will use Williams predominantly up forward, starting against Peel in Mandurah on Good Friday, but knows the AFL Academy member is more than capable at centre-half back or even in the ruck.
East Perth
Ethan Regan
From: Morley JFC/Trinity College
Age: 17
Height: 189cm
Weight: 73kg
Position: Forward
If Regan’s final pre-season hit-out against Claremont is anything to go by, he’s in for a big year.
The 17-year-old utility booted three majors against last season’s grand finalists in an exciting display after playing in the reserves the week before.
Regan only made one colts appearance last year because of PSA footy duties at Trinity College and a nasty ankle injury.
But his injury dramas are now hopefully in his rear-view mirror.
The good news for West Coast fan is the club gets priority access to Regan, who can play in a variety of positions including defence and ruck, in the draft through their Next Generation Academy.
Peel Thunder
Luke Polson
From: Warnbro Swans JFC
Age: 17
Height: 196cm
Weight: 83kg
Position: Key forward/ruck
The Peel teen does his best work as a key forward, but is also more than capable as a back-up ruckman.
Polson was one of the Thunder’s most consistent players during a tough season last year.
He moves well around the ground for a big man and has a great set of hands.
Perth
Jack Avery
From: Cottesloe JFC/Scotch College/Claremont
Age: 19
Height: 190cm
Weight: 83kg
Position: Defender
One of the competition’s brightest young defensive talents, Avery recently switched WAFL clubs from Claremont to Perth.

Avery, a left-footed intercept-marking defender who racks up midfield-like numbers, will add class across half-back to an inexperienced Demons outfit.

The 19-year-old started training with the senior side before integrating with the colts, where he will feature in the first few rounds of the regular season while pushing for a league berth.

He averaged 23.2 disposals, 10 intercept possessions and 6.2 marks per game last season to earn a State 18s berth and attract a bit of AFL interest.

South Fremantle
Riley Colbourne

From: Kwinana

Age: 18

Height: 190cm

Weight: 80kg

Position: Midfielder/forward

Jesse Motlop is the obvious choice at South Fremantle, but don’t sleep on fellow Fremantle Next Generation Academy talent Riley Colbourne.

Bulldogs colts coach Larry Cavallo said Colbourne was a “stand-out” choice for captain and expected him to be in draft calculations by season’s end.

He’s a good size, is quick off the mark and has got a great leap on him.

The Kwinana product will start the season on the wing but can also have an impact up forward.

Subiaco
Neil Erasmus

From: Hale School

Age: 17

Height: 188cm

Weight: 80kg

Position: Forward

The Hale School product’s colts grand final was something special, putting him on the radar of AFL recruiters.

Under pressure to hold his spot heading in, Erasmus repaid the faith of coach Chayce Creedy with a stunning four-goal haul as Subiaco upset minor premiers Claremont.

He was in contention for the Mel Whinnen Medal and gave talent scouts a glimpse of his enormous talents in the process.

Erasmus put also together a decent PSA footy campaign at Hale under former Docker Jason Norrish, who likened him to fellow Hale and Subi product and Port Adelaide forward Mitch Georgiades.
Swan Districts
Rhett Bazzo

From: South Mandurah JFC/Guildford Grammar

Age: 17

Height: 195cm

Weight: 81kg

Position: Key defender/forward

The son of late Swan Districts champion Steve Bazzo is already making a name for himself.

The intercept-marking defender hasn’t seen a great deal at WAFL colts level due to PSA commitments with Guildford Grammar, but is one to watch for this year.

His PSA form was brilliant down back, reading the play like a book and dominating the airways.

But Swans colts coach Simon Bergin has thrown him into attack in the pre-season, with a 4.4 effort against South Fremantle showing he’s more than capable.

Bazzo is one of four West Aussies in the AFL Academy.

West Perth
Lochlan Paton

From: Joondalup-Kinross JFC

Age: 17

Height: 182cm

Weight: 75kg

Position: Midfielder-forward

The smooth-moving West Perth midfielder-forward was rewarded for his consistent colts season with a State under-18s berth during the All-Stars series.

He made the most of his opportunity in game two, amassing 21 possessions and five inside-50s in an eye-catching display.

Paton has got great skills and the ability to drift forward and hit the scoreboard.

Falcons colts coach Ryan Lasscock has predicted a big year for Paton after an exciting pre-season.

South Fremantle
Riley Colbourne
From: Kwinana
Age: 18
Height: 190cm
Weight: 80kg
Position: Midfielder/forward

Jesse Motlop is the obvious choice at South Fremantle, but don’t sleep on fellow Fremantle Next Generation Academy talent Riley Colbourne.

There's lots of good stuff in there but this is pretty impressive about one of our NGA talents not as talked about as much as Motlop and Bartlett.

He's been on the radar for me a bit and he had some solid games in the WAFL last season, he's a sneaky chance for a late pick but will probably go as a Cat-B. Definitely one to watch

He's meant to be the best of the three isn't he?
So they say. Hopefully has a better kicking action than Emma :)

I'm assuming Jaxon and Jack Eastaugh are Simon's sons? If so, they are playing Futures for East Freo as well.

Peel haven't even provided their Colts and Futures teams yet. Former Eagle now in charge needs to pull his finger out.

I heard the same

I've heard him being talked up as a potential top 5 pick. There's a bit of home town bias in those comments, but in the last few years Stack, Nathan O'Driscoll and Deven Robertson have all come out of Northam.

I liked the good old days where it was clear that a players name played a significant role in our drafting. Shipp. Bell. Carr. Parker. etc. Get William Wolf on the list. Just do it.

Van Rooyen is playing League on Saturday for Claremont. Looking forward to seeing how he goes.

Williams played a League game in pre-season so I'm sure we'll see him line up in the upcoming rounds - although he is competing with O'Reilly and Dixon for a spot.
