It doesn’t but what I want and what Geelong wants are usually two different things. If someone grabs Clark, then I think we may trade our pick 7 for something in next years draft.

Wells is a mad man and has failed with most of his top 20 picks the past decade. His picks in the 40s are normally top notch.

But yes if we take someone this year then I would rather Busslinger and back the culture in to keep him and maybe later pursue Clark and bring the boy home.

Doesn’t your team want Philippou? Trade with Geelong.
I doubt your club wants to sell, and we would be reluctant to buy. Can't see it happening.

What a strange take. You think that adding a Tassie team will directly reduce the entertainment level of the AFL?

Yes, the right thing to do was to relocate a team. Now we'll need another 40 players in the league. 40 players that currently wouldn't be getting a game because they'd be the guys who just missed out. yes they'll be shared amongst the league but ultimately that is just a dilution of the talent pool in the league, and in each team.

I see what golum is saying but ultimately if club development could turn pick 50+ players consistently into stars then what we'd see is that over time draft positions don't matter which is a lie, they absolutely do matter and the whole points system was built upon that premise.

A crows bloke quoted me on our board so i came here looking for him. Probs should’ve tagged WeedsMullet84

I want to sell our pick 7 for your F1. 10 wins at the very least next year for the Crows imo
I don't think we'd do that.

PERHAPS 7 and your F1 for our F1?

That ends up being 7 in a mediocre draft and pick 16 or so for about pick 6 or 7 in a really good draft.

Still not sure the Crows would do it.

Wow, so you bought these players and and still kept that, clubs are *******s
It’s actually ridiculous. I think it honestly has something to do with the fact that SHocking had access to all players salaries.

I’ve been on and off this website for a decade so Cats fans think I talk shit. Facts are I see Richmond fans complain about us and I don’t blame them. Geelong fans think they’re psychotic but I don’t see it. I remember the same Cats fans were saying the same thing about your sides fans after the whole Dangerfield situation. My thread creation history on the main board will show you that I don’t like my own clubs fanbase.

I’ve got Dylan Grimes in mind for Max’s future. He’s not flashy but I’m pumped to (hopefully) be snaffling him.

Watching a few videos, Max seems to read the game really well, often seems to be a step ahead of his opponents. And despite his wiry frame, looks like he enjoys a tackle.

We 100% will match.

Our picks rise immediately to 42, 51 and 54 following the Ashcroft bid. That is a total points value of 874 points.

A bid at pick 16 (worst case scenario) means we need to match 1067 points less 20% which is 853.6 points.

If a bid doesnt come there, I expect as we go further past pick 16 without a bid, the club will look to trade picks for the most beneficial outcome (eg moving useful assets to next years draft while retaining enough points to still match or trading back into this draft prior to a bid).
Don't they go the other way? i.e. picks 46, 56 and 59 will become 47, 57 and 60 after the Ashcroft bid, and then slide further after some more likely F/S and academy bids?

No, because like us, other clubs will use multiple picks on their father/son and academy picks .....thus burning picks, and bringing our picks fwd

If a club uses 3 picks for one player B4 us .....that brings our picks down by 2 spots

Brisbane’s own picks get swallowed up though by matching the bid for Ashcroft (plus any other clubs & matched bids) so everyone’s picks slide up to fill the void/s.

Interesting this ties into what Volbeat has been saying
TBH I wouldn't be all that surprised if GWS would be more interested in Norths 2nd round pick in 2023 then pick 18 in this draft, especially if they've already taken multiple 1st rounders in a weaker draft. North's 2nd next year is shaping to be a very valuable asset IMO.

If Mattaes does end up slipping to the back of the 1st round, it might be enough to dangle just the single pick. See if they bite in order to get a stronger hand in a stronger draft.

The Tigers are keen to secure a key forward with at least one of their two draft picks this year, with South Australian pair Harry Lemmey and Tom Scully two players who could potentially still be available.

WHERE WILL EXCITING TALL LAND?

Athletic South Australian tall Isaac Keeler is expected to find an AFL home in this year’s national draft – but no one knows where.

Recruiters believe the Adelaide Next Generation Academy member could land anywhere between a pick in the late teens to a selection in the 40s.

“He’s far from perfect but he’s got a bit going for him,” one recruiter said.

“He’s got a lot of upside.”

A 198cm forward-ruckman from North Adelaide, Keeler has drawn comparisons to a young Paddy Ryder.

He trained with the Crows during pre-season and represented South Australia in the national championships, as well as averaging 17.9 disposals and kicking 19 goals from 15 SANFL under-18 games.

While athletic talls don’t grow on trees, Keeler’s competitiveness and endurance have been raised as potential concerns among some recruiters.

That said, St Kilda and Melbourne – who both have picks in the 30s – are believed to have some interest.

Adelaide may consider matching a bid on Keeler if he gets beyond pick 40, with the first 40 picks in this year’s draft being protected from NGA bids being matched.

So - the value of pick 11 is pick 28?

Single transactions just set the market?

So you, some random nuffie, is the market?

BTW no one ever traded 11 for 28 so stop with that rubbish. A mid first round pick in a different year, was traded for a pick in the current draft - as it was happening!

So yes, that trade did reflect the market

It’s understood the Suns had been offering the selection (currently Pick 11 for 2020) to a several on Thursday to help them jump up the draft order, with the Cats coming to the party.”
