I know for awhile all we drafted seemed like half backs... And yet why does it seem like one of our weakest areas? Where's our drive and dash and great skills coming from?

Is Dawson going to play more half back or up on the wing or in the guts, he legit was in the back pocket for the 2nd half of the year.
Is it finally gonna click in place for Chayce Jones? Can you actually improve your "Game awareness"?
Is Hamill going to avoid a concussion this year? He seems like a great prospect if he can stop getting injured all the time.
Obviously Smith will play there but he's slowing down and the leg isn't what it once was.
Is Seedsman going to retire?
Can Hinge play at half back? He's tough and got a great kick on him but can he break the lines?
Will Milera become the silky smooth mover we always hoped he would be?

Half back seems to pose a lot of questions this up coming season.

Thanks, that was my best guess too after looking at the current picks. Unlikely he slides that far I presume but would have to try if he did. Hewett and Hollands the two others that may be in that range that I would consider trading up for based on what I've seen.
oh boy that would be a big decision
do you take hollands to almost guarantee elijah down the track?
or do you take the guy that will come in and play next year and break balls with berry?

No you take Ollie Hollands because he's the best runner in this draft, elite endurance, good blend of inside/outside ability and quite reasonable skills all round.

Still think Hollands will be completely out of our reach, will be a lot of clubs around the back end of the top 10/early teens interested IMO

Excellent post

Surely Seed will retire? How does he come back from concussions and get fit after a year out, presumably with little training?

Milera seems the one for me but we played him forward at the end of last year

Dawson would be perfect but currently filling that hole at the back

Jones..hmmm..I’m as doubtful as you are

Almost for certain but that wasn't what my post was about...You draft Ollie because he's a seriously good prospect not because of his brother.

Hamill is a write-off IMO.
Hinge needs to be the half back, with Milera the smooth moving, line breaking player off the flank. Wayne has absolutely no place up forward. HBF or GTFO
I'd also shift Laird down back in the next year or so.
A combination of these 3, with Murray and Butts as the KPDs and Doedee and Worrell as the 3rd/4th/utility types makes for a dynamic and flexible set of 'talls' I think. Hinge could also lock down if required.

If that was the case, there's not really room for Smith, Parnell, McPherson, (and obviously Hamill).

Dawson MUST play in the middle / wing. Wasted down back

yes but it doesnt hurt... although i always got the feeling brad and matt weren't as close as people thought
I could have sworn I saw an article of them both on the news and they lived together and had their girlfriends also living there, for a few years.

If you weren't really close to someone and you were in AFL coin, I wouldn't think you'd live together.

You'd be wrong on that score too, they lived together the 2 brothers and their partners until Brad went to the Saints, Matt has since bought a house in Adelaide.

Haven’t seen him but his rookie me profile said one of his weaknesses is speed. Based on that I wouldn’t have him.

Yeah but tall mids with speed and skill are pretty rare after the top 5!

I've only seen him a couple of times and while he didn't exactly stand out, he showed good composure when he had it. Bit outside though like Jeff said.

Agree

I wonder if phillipou has slid to say pick 13 or 14, whether we might have a deal in place for 23 and our f2 which will be a valuable pick in a stronger draft?

It's interesting.

I would have been happy picking Phillipou at 5 and trading the '22 and '23 2nd rounders for Rankine.

If we can trade in and get Phillipou we could be paying that exact price for these two.
