We are a side that just keeps turning the ball over and killing any momentum we have. Poor skills. It's been that way for years.

But suspect selection, player positions and a gameplan that seems to have no plan B doesn't help.

We just don't look like a well coached, well drilled football team.

To me Ratten seems like a stubborn man on the wrong path.

Brad Hill is a winger... we don't need to constantly throw the baby out with the bathwater every time something isn't going well, such as a player is out of form or the gameplan isn't working.

The whole thing is just tiring.
Yep exhausting
Given a home Friday night game full house and do that again

The thing that hurt most was the lack of effort and energy. I felt like we were going to lose from 10 minutes into the first quarter. You can tell when they don't give a shit. Even when we came back you felt like luck was going to have to intervene get us over the line.

Pretty much like the North Melbourne marquee game. They gave no effort or pride in their performance. I'd rather go down in flames trying our arses off than have to watch 18 players getting paid to jog around half interested.

I expect them to play better this week because it's hidden from view.

Come on it was nothing like that North game. That was one of our worst losses ever. This one was disappointing but let's have some perspective. We were well in the game with 3 mins left.

We were never winning that game

Whether we deserved to win it or not is another matter but if Hayes gets paid that mark we are 3 points down with 3 mins to go so surely we could have won.

Anyway it's beside the point, to compare it to that North game is just over the top. It wasnt in the same stratosphere as that game.

Friday night was a shocking loss for the club had the spot light on them and given the time spot we wanted.

Was it as bad as the north loss not in your opinion but we all have different opinions but apparently it’s hysterical to think other wise, same poster had a crack at StC from WA the other day which was just another cheap shot, if gringo ,St C or I reply to people like that @Geaorge would be telling us to pull our heads in and fair enough

Surely we can discuss the good and bad of the club without people taking offence on views either way

What are you on about? What cheap shot?

I'm not taking offence at all just calling out over the top bs (in my opinion).

If you actually think it's as bad as the North game I have to disagree. That game was labelled as some of the worst football ever played in the first half and then we lost by over ten goals in the second, it set us back years and basically brought about the end of a coach and most of his football department. It sapped any hope from our supporters.

That Pies game would have actually been good to watch as a neutral. It's just not comparable, sorry.

I don't play favourites, if something is over the top I address it with the poster.

It gets frustrating for me when it's assumed that pessimism, criticism and general negativity isn't allowed. If someone is doing it continuously then that is not on, and has been a rule on this board longer than I've been here. But being critical of the club is absolutely fine if done right.

For me the frustrating thing is the notion that the very few optimistic and positive posters we have are somehow silencing the other side of debate. It's quite ludicrous honestly. The posters that would have a more critical view or pessimistic view far outweigh any positivity, that's pretty obvious to me. It gets a bit much when the threat of being "silenced" is used every time someone takes issue with an overly critical or negative/pessimistic post. As you are entitled to your opinions, so are others. It all just needs to be done right and not become a consistent theme of someone's posting.

I mean we take yesterday as an example. I simply just asked the question to create a central thread for that stuff. I didn't care if we did or didn't do it, I thought I'd see what everyone else would've preferred. The response I received was honestly bizarre, you guys don't need to feel threatened about being silenced if you aren't speaking about the club or players in the same way all the time. You are in the majority, let's remember that.

Regardless, you guys don't want to have a central thread for it and that's fine. No problem with me whatsoever. I'm removing myself from the discussion today, I can't waste another day going back and forth. Thanks

It wasn't anywhere near as bad as the North game in my opinion.

The North game was one of our worst games ever, and even for a neutral, it was disgusting to watch.

Friday night wasn't great, certainly left me with a sour taste but I wouldn't have said we were putrid at least not from start to finish like the North game.

With that said it's very disappointing to once again fail to perform when we are given a prime time slot.

It wasn’t you I was referring to with the cheap shot and if it came across that way I apologise

Have you see their coach? Flys off the handle at journos. Looks like chopper Reid. Probably benches more then 95% of their playing list.

Meanwhile our last 2 coaches are the grandpa and dad types.

They Stick an arm around you, have a cuddle and tell you to be a good boy and Don’t get too dirty on the weekend. We don’t want mum to have to soak your clothes young Jack.
Can't tell me that bevo is not a dad type to his players. He's a bit weird with stuff outside the game and team but he's absolutely a cuddle type of coach not a task master. Not really any of the old taskmaster coaches around anymore

So Hunter Clark is much further away than expected? He is still listed as 4-6 weeks when the original prognosis 4 weeks ago was 4-6 weeks.

On the other hand, Sam Walsh (widely considered one of the most professional trainers in the league) has managed to shorten his time on the sidelines and is playing this week.

Quite the contrast...
Very very different injuries.
You recover from ac joint when you recover. Nothing you can really do to speed it along. And hunters was a high grade one which are ****ing painful and take a while

Whatever style of coach we have if we're not winning games that style will be criticized here.

There really isn't a correct style but it's defiantly the case that there are no Robert Walls types around anymore that old-school tough guy stuff is outdated.

Coaches nowadays tend to be more in the mold of Chris Fagan

All good. I'm trying to be more civil in general on here :)

I'm also at home with Covid and too much time on my hands this week.

We were never winning that game
A couple of suspect umpiring calls right near the end made sure of that!

Yes, I get our first half was crap and we shouldn't have been in that position in the first place, but nevertheless we were coming home with a wet sail. Those calls on Hayes and Woods just put an end to it.

It knocked me about a bit when I had it

Hope you've got it as mildly as I did. A day with a slight cold...and 6 more days cooling my heels at home. Thankfully could get some work done. Not too unhappy to have had it as am heading off overseas in three weeks and would have been pretty nervous about getting it just before.

Yeah it's not great. Whole family has it now, bit of a bummer in this household.

A Socceroos win tonight and Saints win on Sunday would be the cure.

Not saying you are wrong with umps
But we are always blaming someone else or bud luck, no excuse s this year

Have to warn you to be careful, this is actually the second time I've tested positive in 7 weeks! First time was incredibly mild, this time like a cold.

You're right. It's make or break this year I think. No finals and we are in for a lot more pain.

I know you can still test positive for a while afterwards, so I am still a bit neurotic. Will be a 5 week gap for me from having it till leaving so I'm getting a doctor's letter too to say I've had it.

Kent having 4 touches and one tackle
Max kicking 1goal 3 had more to do with the loss then the umpires
