Good for his owners that they'll make finals thenIMPORTANT WHITFIELD UPDATE:
Journo: How'd you pull up?
Whitfield: Pulled up well. I have an ongoing ankle issue, it isn't going away this year. But it is managable. Just trying to sort that out.
Journo: Is it something you will have surgery on at the end of the season?
Whitfield: Yeah, at this stage probably, but things can change. We have a good physio department here... it felt good on the weekend...I will be nursed through the week to get up at the back end of the week.
Assessment: You've all been warned... As soon as GWS are mathematically eliminated from finals, expect him to be sent in for surgery!!!

Fantastic ....that should deter Coach's from bringing Whitfield in .....preserves his POD statusIMPORTANT WHITFIELD UPDATE:

Midfielder Darcy Parish finds himself in a similar position to what McGrath experienced last week, racing the clock to be fit for Friday night.
Parish was subbed off with a corked calf, which is healing, but a decision to see whether the 24-year-old is available will likely come later in the week.
“‘Darce’ had that calf cork, which he copped at the very first centre bounce,” Murphy said.
“It just got progressively worse and he was subbed out of the game.
“He was still pretty sore early in the week and it’s improving every day so he’s still a test for this weekend.”

Didn't Howe miss a few with a corkie?Inversely proportional to the type of heart - Lion, 1-2 weeks, Pea - ???.
I feel your pain mate.Tense times ahead for the Hermits. Own the following.
-Gawn
-Parish
-Whitfield
-Butters
-Owens
Hopefully Parish gets up, copping a corkie first centre bounce is stiff. Need Whitfield to keep playing and get some decent scores to repay the faith, a solid 3-4 weeks would be ideal as it makes a sideways trade easier. Hopefully Butters doesn’t get taken out or held out of the play too much this weekend. Need Owens to come back in after protocols, i roughied him back last week, need him to make some cash. Be great if Gawn is only 3 weeks and only misses 1 game.
Steele saying his back next week. Worth waiting a week if needing a mid to complete around 570k or just snap up Keays or Brayshaw next round?
Yes ....likely to be an additional 2-4 weeks, on top of his current suspension ....I'd plan, at least a month B4 we see Smith againHave I missed the Bazlenko news, is AFL/club going to impose extra sanctions?
Decision tomorrow. Precedent set previously. Will likely be two weeks on top of his current two week suspension.Have I missed the Bazlenko news, is AFL/club going to impose extra sanctions?
How many left? I'm down to 5...
He did indeed, twice in the one season. His circumstances were a bit unusual in that the internal bleeding was very persistent and there had to be much draining, swabbing and swaddling of most of his leg.Didn't Howe miss a few with a corkie?
lol Bailey SniffConfirmation that Sniff gets a two week ban, to commence at the completion of his current suspension. Will be available again round 18.
