.Same, I feel it hasn't been to bad generally. Not that many melts on here.I reckon in comparison to other years, it's been pretty light this year.
And a lot of the carnage has only occurred in the last couple of weeks.
Looking at top averages:
- English missed 5 games
- Jack Steele LTI
- Baz Smith suspension
- Grundy LTI
- Aaron Hall LTI (wouldn't have had high ownership)
- Preuss being Preuss (but he was rookie priced)
- NicNat LTI (wouldn't have had high ownership)
What else?

Will be great value next year. What's the 411 on Butters he looked catus on Saturday.

Good thing we all held onto those extra trades, right guys?
Guys?
This. People whinging is fair, but you were all given 5 extra trades for this very reason. Not to burn and complete your teams as fast as possible.
I have a mate with 4 trades left and 2 injuries this week. He's flucked.
100% agree. I had this thought in the PS but got sucked into trying to upgrade too quickly. Those extra trades disappear quickly when going 2 down 1 up each week. And its diminishing returns as you are trading in any rookie rather than the best ones, so the they make less money so you keep burning the trades.his. I agree. I have no idea how some people have 0 trades left already. I have been trading like a maniac and have done some stupid sideways moves and still have 8 left. What are these freaks doing to be at 2 trades.This. People whinging is fair, but you were all given 5 extra trades for this very reason. Not to burn and complete your teams as fast as possible.

Says every single one of us every year, before falling for the same traps again and again.100% agree. I had this thought in the PS but got sucked into trying to upgrade too quickly. Will definitely take a different approach next season.

No, I've gone away from my usual method this year. Will be more patient with my trades next year, which is my normal approach.Says every single one of us every year, before falling for the same traps again and again.![]()

I had my best start every but traded out players I should have kept, and kept players I should have traded (English). Has cost me dearly. I guess my post was more directed at myself than anyone else!!No, I've gone away from my usual method this year. Will be more patient with my trades next year, which is my normal approach.
I thought being more aggressive was the way too go this year, but that was wrong. That and I've copped more injuries which hasn't help, but if I had saved more trades the injuries wouldn't be such an issue. Chicken and the egg sorta thing.
Yeah I would normally never trade an uninjured player, but with the extra trades it felt like an option.I had my best start every but traded out players I should have kept, and kept players I should have traded (English). Hammy's and ankles are always a trade (I've learned this the hard way). Always seem to be minimum 3 weeks. And before anyone brings up Cripps this year, that wasn't a hammy - I don't know what it was, but it wasn't a hamstring.

The thing is you'll never really know the best approach until after the season, I think being aggressive at the start still gives the best odds of a high placed finish. No, I've gone away from my usual method this year. Will be more patient with my trades next year, which is my normal approach.

It's actually a double whammy,if you don't replace them with the right players. I got rid of Whitfield after rnd 2 for Doc,and Milera (inj) for Sicily after rnd 1. Doch scored 69 more points by round 4 which was crucial in moving up rankings early, and 450 more since then, just those 2 early trades alone make a big difference. The thing is you'll never really know the best approach until after the season, I think being aggressive at the start still gives the best odds of a high placed finish.
Keeping players like Ridley, Whitfield this year instead of turfing them has set me back for sure, especially when I ended up needing to trade them anyway. Opportunity cost is a real thing, not being able to upgrade in say R7/8 because an underperforming guy gets injured and you're forced to sideways whilst other people grab rookies and upgrade.
The only way you can really make up that ground now is if players get injured/miss games with covid which is just really relying on luck and things you can't control.

And another point if everyone was more conservative, I wouldn't have started panicking by rnd 7/8 after seeing all those teams full of better players than mine being well on the way to being completed, and starting to overhaul my early advantage. The thing is you'll never really know the best approach until after the season, I think being aggressive at the start still gives the best odds of a high placed finish.
