Contracted until end of 2022
Billy Frampton
Elliot Himmelberg
Mitch Hinge
James Rowe
James Borlase (R)
Tariek Newchurch (R)
Brett Turner (R)
Ben Davis (R)

Not too many left now that don't have a contract for next year - Turner also needs a decision.

I would delist Billy, Himmelburg and Rowe, and consider Billy and Rowe as rookies.

Davis is a rookie delist. Turner maybe gets a year.

Can we keep the two cat Bs for another year?

I think Seedsman probably retires, and a few players are possible trades - Crouch, Worrell, Brown.

Brown closer to retiring than being traded.

****. Is Brown contracted for next year?

And here is a guy in Tex that we should be very much wanting at the club when he hangs up his boots be that at the end of next year or whenever. He should be offered the role as a full time skills coach as there are few better field kicks and shots for goal out there. We have a dire need for improvement in that area.

No, we need him and anyone involved with Craig, Roo, VB, Noble, Trigg et al the hell out of the place.

The Port rumour about Dunkley makes sense to me.

For JHF I think our first is a given.
For players Thilthorpe, Rachele, Fogarty, Soligo, Dawson, Butts and Doedee off limits. The rest take who you want.

McAsey wouldn't get it done.
Keays, Laird, Berry might.
O'Brien might interest them with Goldstein nearing retirement. Then we go get Grundy as a short term solution maybe.

Factor in trade capital from Sholl.
I'd keep Laird before Doedee. With all respect to Tom...

JHF to Crows for our 1st rounder this year plus Crouch (they sorely need experience all over the park) Literally throw whatever steak knives they want on top of that. Luke Brown? Lachie Murphy? ROB??

Dunkley to Crows for our 2023 1st rounder plus a swap of back ended picks to make sure we're allowed to trade our 1st rounder.

Grundy to Crows for a salary dump and negligible draft pick.

Offload ROB, Crouch and whatever other spuds we've got on the list.

Don't tell me we wouldn't be a better squad with those players coming in. Can you imagine a fit Grundy feeding JHF for the next 5 years?

Might be a tad easier to bring create a time machine and bring back prime Mcleod, Roo, Goodwin, Edwards and Kane Johnson to fix our midfield.

Is it just me or does this seem like a lack of enthusiasm from the group?

I noticed it was subdued. Whether that was because they already knew or something else I couldn't read.

The whole mood in that environment would tend to be a bit subdued. They aren't in a locker room, they are about to review the worst loss we've had in the AFL this year and an SANFL loss from the weekend. Players are holding notebooks, they are about to be shown footage of all the bits they did wrong.

It's probably no surprise to them also. What gets them up and about is a young player committing to the club who had offers.

Absolutely spot on assessment .....selection authenticity is the single most important criteria in a team environment .....every player knows where they're ranked, they rank themselves against teammates vying for similar roles

Having a player that won't commit to the cause, like Stephenson .....causes "some" teammates to say "why bother busting my gut"

Likewise players being "gifted" games .....so "we can have a look at them" ...cause a similar cancer thru the team

Supporters look at individual performance, but overlook the domino impact on performance & cohesion

Most neutral footy supporters would say GWS have a list rich in talent ......HAW has been praised for their season, rebuilding, but still heavily supported by senior Premiership players .....and ESS a Finalist from last year, also has a wealth of talent, but has some key deficiencies; KPD, KPF, and small fwd

ADEL with the youngest list, not many "A" grade mature players, could still finish above these other 3 clubs

Have we progressed this year .....hell no, been disappointing ....from 2021, we're missing T.Lynch, Seedsman & McKay ....but these should have been compensated for by Dawson, Milera, and Crouch returning

Most missed is the long kicking Seedsman

Performance, as can be seen by the teams on the same # wins ....is not always about talent, but often it's team cohesion & gameplan .....however the gameplan is also impacted by the experience at your disposal, and ability to carry out that gameplan

Our shithouse game plan has erased any progress we made in 2021.

Playing our wings and small forwards as pseudo-mids because our experienced midfielders are poor offensively and defensively, and having our best kick deep in defence because we still lose the midfield (even with it being completely stacked). It also means we aren't picking guys who possess the skills best suited to play the wing and half forward roles.

The way we played last year was beneficial for the likes of Ned and Schoenberg who love to take the game on.

We are clearly worried about being scored heavily against but by failing to address the root cause (our experienced midfielders who don't get the job done) we have stymied what was working. Plus we're now horrible to watch.
