If we sign Rankine and JHF this off season, serious question.....

What do our 2023 premiership odds open at? It's single digits, isn't it?

Can anyone recommend good hotels in Melbourne, close to the MCG?
Our objective in 2023 should be to be knocking on the door of the 8 .....we won't be a St Kilda, hovering year after year, between 7 and 12 on the ladder

Odds are released just after the Grand Final, sometimes after HT.

So what do you do if you wanna feel sad about the world?

Oh right... we're all crows fans in here
Just think about my years, following Westies .....that, or follow a CoVid media conference, by nuffies

Seriously though, the years of being blinded to the fantastic passion that I had for so many years ....is gone & replaced with a more objective and pragmatic view of footy

Goldy hasn’t missed since 2017, and has missed six games since 2012.

Grundy has missed 16 in two years and has had two fairly major surgeries in that time.
You can add another injury .....from Grundy's comeback VFL game

Baby Blues did it, what about the Crows Kids?

No club has done this for 20+ years which is saying something. I expect the situation of Seedsman, Sloane and Crouch situation won't change and no confidence in Smith and Brown form so it will be up to Walker and Laird again to provide that experience but both will be a year older to support the young playing group.

Yes. Like Dawson he is a difference maker. The average wage for an AFL player is around $400 k - Rankine will be a top 6-8 player on our team, a little overs to get him in at the perfect age - just starting to breakout

Dawson should really be on $150K more than his reported contract of $550K but Rankine does have a higher talent ceiling.

My all important list changes at end of year.

Delist / Trade
Frampton - should get a look in at a club chasing talls. Shows frequently he is too good for the Sanfl
Himmelberg - I'm thinking he wants out and he is playing like it. May end up simply being a delisted FA
McAsey - I think he will walk and demand a trade. I am not sure the club handled him very well.
Brown - Too good for the Sanfl and runs the risk of playing majority in the reserves next season.
Strachan - He needs to do his career a favour and find a club that will value him. Everytime he has come in and played AFL he did nothing wrong yet got dropped. The Crows will just Play Thilthorpe in the ruck if ROB isnt available.

Davis - straight delist
Rowe - straight delist; with Rachele, McHenry and Murphy all ahead of him, not to mention the need to find a spot for Newchurch when he is ready, I simply can't see Rowe coming close to selection. He was always a stop gap style small forward selection who simply doesn't do enough in games. Its harsh but its the reality.

Question marks
Pedlar - hard to make a call. I think he is on the fringe of being delisted. May depend on who we are able to trade into the club.
Crouch - maybe unforced trade, but i wouldnt blame him for wanting out.
Worrell - He is one that could also walk. Again, its hard too blame him. I am not sure the club even wants to keep him. Weve never looked interested in giving him a game.
Seedsman - Has he retired or just injured? Because he should just retire. Dont want to risk another concussion.
Sholl - banished to the Sanfl. He would be a wanted player but no one could blame him for seeking opportunities back in Victoria.

I suspect we will be going tall this draft and at the trade table. If possible. 4 talls could be gone at once at the end of the year making us on average a small squad.

Thank god you aren’t part of our list management. Let’s get Pedlar to ruck in the Sanfl, Hateley can play full back and McPherson at CHB. Newchurch at CHF and Zac Taylor coming out of the goal square!!

Seriously - you delisted every tall we have that isn’t currently playing in the ones. Not everyone on a list are going to be stars, every list has some strugglers.

Solid B- grade footballer getting offered more money than a solid B+ grade footballer in B.Crouch? Unlike Carlton, the Hawks aren't known to be this stupid in overpaying players so I say that amount is fake news.

Still young and they don’t have a wingmen since Smith left. Is a gapping hole for them and not surprising they would over pay by a $100k to get him to move.

That’s what you need to do. You don’t get a player who is getting a regular game to move unless you overpay or they are desperate to get home.

I would take him losing the ruck to having some influence around the ground.

Personally I would keep Berg & delist Frampton. Frampton can't defend & can't play as a forward, whereas Berg has talent... & may be just a question of him being a late developer to find consistency.

Berg I think still has the ability to become a Shaun McKernan or even a poor man’s Peter Wright as he gets older. Good enough to keep on a list as cheap back up but probably not developing into a consistent starter

There were multiple teams willing to pay $600 K per as minimum for Amon over 4-5 years .

Only moving on 15 players? I was hoping for 25.
