Right, I missed the point of your post. I thought you were suggesting that Grundy was going to perform like Goldy is at his age.

Can’t see North taking ROB, they’ve committed to Xerri and have CCJ, Comben & Edwards needing opportunity.

What value would Grundy add that in anyway makes him worth a first round pick?

not paying a first rounder for a salary dump… not that I think we should chase him.

if anything the pies should flick something our way to take him!

Taking Grundy now will cost us a player in the future, around about when we should be aiming to contend. Whether it’s from not having the money to retain a gun young player coming off a breakout year, or chasing a gun player to fill a hole. It will hurt us.

That’s before you even factor in that we already have a ruckman on a long term contract who is underperforming relative to said contract.

Obviously you trade O'Brien if you're going to take on Grundy.
