I saw this format on the West Coast board and thought it might help understand our current list position

We badly need mids so I’m not sure how we can just shrug our shoulders and ignore a decent one who wants to come to SA in Dunkley.

He's not a game changer. Better off going to the draft provided we have a competent recruiter.

Unfortunately with Clarko going to North there's no chance they hire our underperforming recruiter

He’s a very good mid though and likely to be better than any mid we pick up

Who says we need mids? We have heaps just listen to the Hamish's apologists on the draft thread.
Remember Wigg we trade our 1st down so we could trade up to get him.
We had so many we got rid of Lyons and Greenwood because we had the Sig and Paddy Wilson coming through.
How about the Sam Gibson trade never mind Gibbs.

We traded in Dawson to play mid/for but forgot how stacked our mids are so we shifted him to defence.

We got Jones, McHenry, Laird, Pedlar, Schoenberg, Soligo, Keays, Sloane, Milera, Taylor, Berry, Nank, Rachele, Hately just to name a few no wonder Hamish says you can't to many mids.

It's only logic we go after Rankine as a small forward.

Lucky for our rookie picks or we would be really fxxked.

Butts, Murray, Parnell, Keays, O'Brien, Laird, Murphy, a third of the side off the rookie list, the same amount as our 1st rounders of Smith, Fog, TT, Milera, Doedee, Jones, McMcHenry. Not one playing midfield.

While Reid and Hamish are in charge of list management and recruiting I come to accept the midfield will be made up of from predominantly small slow hacks who come from good families and natural leaders but can't football.

For those apologists who say what about Soligo well if you throw enough darts at the board you will eventual hit something and even a basket case Carlton drafted Cripps in between all the other spuds.

Would be very hard to land Rankine, Dunkley and a Phillipou. If it's Dunkley or Phillipou, I know who I'm going with.

Except, Dunkley is not a decent mid .....you obviously haven't watched him play, or you wouldn't have this opinion

Nope, it's the view of the majority of neutral avid footy watchers on the boards

You criticise our players, like Keays for his disposal .....yet you're keen to bring another in, with poor disposal

We need a classy finisher, not another grunge player .....we don't have to chase a player, simply because he's available

It is? Ok, so you’ve taken a poll and collated all these opinions?

He’s a decent midfielder, to suggest otherwise is bullshit. He’s a regular in a very strong Bulldogs midfield and would get a game in every team.

Yes we need a classy finisher, but our midfield is well short so Dunkley would definitely improve it.

If Phillipou gets pick at 6 and doesn't make it it's a bad pick.

I absolutely agree with you but this is the Adelaide board remember, there'll be plenty on this board ready to pounce as soon as Phillipou didn't turn out to be an absolute top liner if that was the case.

It's why GWS have played him predominantly FWD ....Taranto wants to play midfield, RICH / COLL provide that opportunity

Put Dunkley into Ports midfield & surround him with Butters & Rozee ....it's a perfect mix of grunt and class

I think Dunkley will be a fine player for Port Power, I'm just all in on Phillipou now.

The Dawson trade has given me confidence we can get Rankine and keep our first.

The Thilthorpe selection has given me confidence we won't try to be too cute at pick 6 and we won't overlook everything Phillipou brings.

Best for Port Power to use their 1st rounder on Dunkley for another missing piece since they somehow think they are in premiership window despite arguably their best player who was still handy as a small forward retiring last night. But they are sticking with Hinkley so don't have a choice do they and will be interesting if Boak will retire end of next season.
