So the whole off-season "arms race" proved yet again that collecting top name players doesn't usually work.

Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins has been a big positive. The Chiefs have rolled on without suffering his loss. Davante Adams and Chandler Jones haven't made a difference in Las Vegas, struggling at 1-4, whilst the Packers probably have missed Adams but that isn't the reason for their slide. The Seehawks have been unaffected by the loss of Russell Wilson, winning a lot of games no one thought they would with Geno Smith, whilst the Broncos have not suddenly become SB contenders. Khalil Mack and JC Jackson have not made a difference for the Chargers.

Meanwhile, teams with hardly any talent at WR like the Falcons and Jets and Giants, and with maligned QBs and other positional problems have outperformed even top tier teams like the Rams, Bengals, 49ers, etc.

Coaching > Players has been shown more so than Players > Coaching.

Just going to ignore the Eagles and AJ Brown?

You're right, forgot that one.

Forgot the leagues only undefeated term, an accumulator of top end talent through trading and free agency- this season alone Brown, Reddick, Bradbery, CJGJ, and Reddick, which destroys your argument?

Or you forgot enough recent history to forget that the Bills are still benefitting from the Diggs trade amongst other acquisitions?

I'm not saying the entire off-season transactions across the league were a waste of time, just that a lot of the hyped ones haven't worked, and a lot of teams who focused on the draft or solid depth signings and have new better HCs have done better. The "dream team" thing versus if you have a solid team and add that one difference-maker, like Miller to the Bills, or Brown to the Eagles.

Remember the time before the season started when I said the Eagles were the best team in the NFC and Packers homer offtherails9 lol'd at me... I do :)

Reddick twice, I wish there was two of him and one them stayed with the Panthers :(

What a horrible decision letting him walk.

I subscribe to the opinion that the Panthers signing him to a 1 year prove it deal was pointless.

Only reason they signed him was because teams apparently didn't believe that his final year in Arizona was legit, and it would have only ended in 2 options:
1) He proves he actually is legit and then leaves to sign with a relevant team (which is what happened)
2) Turns out that his Arizona 2020 season was a fluke and then the Panthers might have a chance to re-sign him (but it might not be worth it)

The Panthers either needed to try to lock him up longer term or not sign him at all, but I guess that is what happens when you allow a HC who needs to prove his worth to keep his job to have final say on the roster

100%, lots of dumb pointless moves that made no sense whatsoever, money being used on all the wrong positions etc. When a player at a position as important as Reddick gets over 10 sacks 2 years running hes proven himself. I think the Cards misused him in the early part of his career as an off ball linebacker a lot of the time and thats the reason why his stats weren't very good, hes proven to be the player everyone thought he was coming out now that hes been allowed to play purely as a pass rusher.

It never made sense why they decided to move him off the ball immediately, but then again it is the Cards and a 1st round LB - something that they clearly have NFI about

Seahawks own first round is going to end up in the high 20's at this rate.

I have a feeling we can make the wild card spot if we nab a decent RB to replace Penny, too much to put it all on KW3.

We would be such a better team with a decent linebacker like Wagner still there. left a huge hole in the back field.

Actually give us a good chance to compete with the Chargers, not convinced of them this morning.

Walker looks a beast who will thrive on 3 down work imo.

Giants 12-5? What are they smoking? Look I know they have been amazing thus far but surely the ass falls out eventually. If Daboll gets that roster to 10-7 or even 9-8 hes a genius.

I think it was quite reasonable to raise the question of the Eagles buddy. Hurts has been good and so have Philadephia. They are absolute favorites in the NFC after 6 weeks and will be the 1 seed. As we all know, just because you dominate the regular season and have a first round bye, doesn't mean you'll win the championship.

I'm interested to see Hurts down the stretch, and what defenses start to ask of the guy later in the year as every contender in the NFC and league will be going to work on finding weaknesses in their team. Maybe forcing him to throw deeper where accuracy is a question.
