I wonder if the crows are into Jack Graham again. Seems to be gettable this time around.

If GC are really open to trading pick 7 for a club to take on Bowes, then we should absolutely be there in the discussions. We surely can afford it.
If we agreed to trade pick 5 for Rankine, pick 7 and Bowes, we 100% do it. If GC are convinced we won't part with pick 5 in a normal trade for Rankine, it might be the best offer they get.
Trade next years first and 23 this year for rankine, 7 and Bowes. Gives us 5,7 in the draft this year which will allow us to take phillipou and who ever else with 7 along with acquiring rankine and Bowes

We have to ask draft watchers.

I only read here and opinions seem split, but I guess it's a risk
Wardlaw, Sheezel, Tsatas and Cadman likely gone. One of Clarke, Mackenzie and Phillipou (plus some others, depending on your preferences) will still be there.

Would be happy with that outcome if it saved our 2023 first.

So Gold Coast are so littered with top end talent that they are willing to throw away a top 10 pick just so they don’t have to pay someone.
Ridiculous.

And yet we’re meant to feel bad for taking Rankine?

The legal definition of force majeure does not deal with the Clarko incident

I would say the AFL will likely deregister both coaches which will trigger the termination of their employment coaches

Well, it's possible now that neither are employed by a big vic club.

I'm not sold on this controversy to be honest ... on the one had women are telling all over the place its their body their choice but if a coach suggests it, its the end of the world....

Tbh... we need more context and the other side of the story.
Didn't realise clarko posted on this board

If the Bowes rumours of 800k a year for the next 2 years is true and that's why they want to get rid of him, can we offer a 4 year deal where he gets the 800k in the first two years but then drops back down to 250k for the next two?
Why would he agree to that?

bowes wont accept that though

C7 mention we might be after Poulter. Similar player to Sholl imo.
I was hoping at the time we would draft him.
Not really, he's more an inside/outside mid/winger/half forward than a half back flanker....and has a way more contested footy game than Sholl.

Yet are we not in more need for outside players with good skills?

Very doubtful, Bowes has a very high bargaining power with pick 7 in play and probably told GCS if you want to trade me as a salary dump you need to include pick 7. Hence, the AFL has just allowed clubs to do this (coincident I think not) and who could blame him since they paid him sh*t in the first 2 years and now want him out of their books after getting a serious shoulder injury.

Perhaps go check out some Poulter footage because it's pretty clear you haven't watched a lot of his footy...there's plenty on youtube.

Edit : and the potential to be a far more damaging option than Sholl with his super penetrating kick and pace.
