How much of the Hill not being salary dumped is dependent on De Goey's decision?
Hope he picks saints and we decline a trade for hill let them deal with the cap

Your boy started the rumour that he is coming to North. All I did was attempt to apply realistic input here.

After the last week of you boys talking priority pickabonanza on here. I think it’s required.
then you have no idea what this thread is about

This is the s**t I want to see. We’ve been screwed by Gil and co, now I just want to * s**t up for everyone else
It’s not even about the draft assistance, it’s just about being in direct competition with another club The only way we should offer cap relief is if any deal is ridiculously in our favour. Same with the pick 1, bid on Ashcroft. Keep brissy honest. It’s not spite it’s just giving other sides outs shouldn’t be on the table unless we benefit greatly

While we are at it go hard for Gunston now , he’s an avenue to goal we don’t have , get louge, Clark, hill and Gunston. Fit cunners , growth from our mids Powell , jhf , Ldu being himself all year and you know we will actually beat a lot of these f…… teams who been putting shit on us for years

Lets redirect the disgust at our list management team for a second.

We have #1 and #55 this year. What appalling list management for a wooden spoon team. Obviously the CCJ pick looks a monumental mistake. What also happened to our early 3rd round pick? Sorry but anyone associated with this management needs to be shown the door if they haven't left already. Inexcusable.
We also recruited JHF Curtis Goater CCJ Burgman and Archer.
All players that potentially be in our round 1 team next year.
All could play 200 games for the club.

Don't know how you can be disappointed with that !

I really hope we don't trade next years first rounder, we will likely enter the season favourites for the spoon and another pick 1. If that ends up happening we would have gotten way unders for pick one (Which would be a very North Melbourne thing to do). It could obviously work out and end up being pick 5 for pick 7 + Clark, but more likely it goes the other way. Should be untouchable until we start to show some signs of improvement.

Saints aint finishing higher than 10th next season. Their list is going backwards.
Yep, in which case the trade would be worth even less to them.
In a weird sick way, I’d be impressed if they accepted the future firsts swap.
It’d require a lot of chutzpah to death ride us that hard.
I mean it’s possible we bomb out next year too, but the advent of Clarko, a couple trade acquisitions and no losses, plus lots of favourable injury recoveries suggest we’ll be making at least modest improvements on the ladder.
And that chutzpah would be coming from a team that’s admitted it needed to rejuvenate its own list asap to get back into the business end of the season.

Maybe, but you also have to acknowledge that we're coming from a long way back. Progress can & will be made, but hard to see us doing a Collingwood in 2023.

2nd last, last, last the last 3 years its obvious what the saints think our pick will be.
They are more confident in their own list than I am.
They would know more than me so maybe they have a right to be.

So it might mean he doesn’t get traded.

Again, we aren’t forcing him out. Which is what I’m trying to tell you guys.

Same way Hill isn’t being salary dumped.

Fair enough, your board and you guys can create and believe in any narrative you want.

I could realistically. See Hill going for either of your second rounders next year however.
The funniest part about your post is you claiming that North posters are spinning a narrative. Whilst in the same breath, claiming that your club is going to hold both these guys to contracts despite one being on the nose with his teammates and the other being secretly shopped by the club.

Our future first rounder for saints future first rounder and Clark.
That is the rumour.
Saints want top end draft talent without bottoming out.
When you quote these in future can you footnote that it came from St Kilda posters (the same that think pick 1 should be involved in the Hill deal) so that it doesn’t raise any genuine alarm. Thanks,

Okay

lets imagine a reasonably pessimistic 2023 season for us and a meh one for the saints:
Say we finish 17 and they finish 10
they get equivalent to pick 43.
A shocking result for them, a total coup for us.

let’s imagine the best situation for the saints.
we finish 18, get pick 1 (3000 pts) and they have a miracle season and finish 5, getting pick 14 (1161 pts)

They get equivalent to pick 6 for Clark, which is only marginally higher than all these saints fans say he is worth.

They need for not only us to bomb out, but they need to overperform expectations for this trade to work.

This is not from Bigfooty.
Thats all I know.

Points don't work for Hi end picks.
Imagine it is this years picks for confusions sake.
We would not trade pick 1 for Hunter Clark and their first.
Thats massive overs.

Right, but the counter view is the trade only works for them if we finish last or second last

3 for pick 8 (or thereabouts) plus Clark doesn’t seem so bad

Seriously f@rk brad hill off.
Hopefully our generous extra picks from the AFL gets us Log and Tucker (or Bedford). Split our pick 1 and grab 2 top 10 picks plus Cooper. Then use our PSD1 to overpay some disgruntled prick who wants to stick it to his current club. This gets us the 3-4 mature bodies plus hopefully 3 quality kids.

Would be nice to snare a FA but that is fanciful thinking, so the above is probably the best we can hope for.

Well we have been pretty shit.
I don't like the deal myself but I could understand the saints being interested.
4th last had 7 wins this year.
I cant see us winning more than that tbh.

WHY WOULD ANY CLUB OFFER TWO TOP TEN PICKS FOR PICK 1 THIS YEAR?

In: Logue, Tucker, future 2nd (Fre)
Out: 55, future 2nd (PP), future 3rd, future 3rd (PP)

Then

In: 25, future 3rd (GC)
Out: future 2nd

That would leave us with the following picks

1,25,66

Futures

1st (NM), 2nd (Fre), 3rd (GC), 4th (NM)

Still plenty of currency left to get other targets.
