How the f..k would you know - I won’t bother posting info if all you can do is pot me. I had a number of sources in the Clarko stuff and it was not tenuous - but beat your chest just because I got ONE thing incorrect based on those same sources. s**t happens in the football world. I’ll stand by my sources at all times and remind you of the meltdowns on here about Zurhaar and Scott leaving as well - and I told you all they wouldn’t. I also received excellent intel last week regarding Noble which confirmed what we all knew - he was hopeless. So if you want to go down the path of potting me - fine - I won’t post any inside info. No skin off my nose if I keep stuff to myself.
Keep posting KIA.
I have faith in you along with many others on this board.

absolute nowhere near enough for either

if we want clark we'd have to give him a low-mid teens pick, which would be absolutely worth it

i feel like people who think we're giving up a future 2nd or 3rd for logue are going to be sorely disappointed, just as they were with the PP result

A future second could get it done for Logue. We have little power with the Clark deal, but we do with Logue.

Lucky - I advised you on 29 July what was happening and this was proven correct as by the time he was confirmed on 19 August he’d already done 4 weeks of due diligence which confirms he’d been in talks with us as far back as 2 weeks prior to 29 July. I’ll back all the sources that had info on Clarko over your “lucky” jibe any day.
sounds like you're a pretty big wheel down at the cracker factory, mate

Some random guy posts and you blow up mate?
Come on now.
majority on here enjoy and value your content and you know it.
I personally more than welcome your input heading into the trade period.
It’s not about blowing up - if they don’t know Jack then there’s no need to have a crack at me. We all know things change quickly in football.
Not sure though that I should post what I know about pick 1 now and I didn’t post anything about Cooper Harvey being added to the Vic Metro squad out of respect for who told me and now it’s cone out today. Sometimes you get lucky sometimes it’s good intel - I tend to get a bit of both so occasionally I get it wrong.

No one in their right mind is trading out of the top 4 this year, given how much it falls away. GWS is the only viable option given they have pick 3, but why the f*** would they trade another first to move up 2 spots.

We need quality not quantity.

Would you prefer Brayshaw or Coffield and Clark?

Naughton went straight after Coffield/Clark.

if the future 2nd was guaranteed to be the first pick after the first round, i'd say it could possibly get it done with like a 3rd or something thrown on top.

I'm not saying it's completely out of the question or anything, but my personal view is that Logue's value is more like 14ish to 18ish and freo would want a bit more certainty than our 2023 2nd round PP, which could be mid-20s if Clarko gets us going.

i fully acknowledge and admit that I'm way more cautious and pessimistic than most folks around here though

At the moment we have 1 55 2023 2 & 3 rd pp and all other 2023 picks

Trade 1 and 2023 3rd for gws pick 3 , 21, and 39.

Pick 3 and 55 use in draft

Pp 2 and pp3 for Logue and tucker

Pick 21 and 39 for Clark and hill

No need to stress mate, there's absolutely no way you could have known anything about what the AFL would do because they only convened on it today. You would have heard what anybody else could have, conjecture. No intel to run with.

I wouldn't rule out pick 1 having very valuable pull, there is still a very select group of players worthy of it, a few teams with more picks than they have spots and teams that still have clear needs and pick 1's on their board. For some the prestige of not only pick 1 but choice 1 is worth the trade.

You can't expect ITK posters to be time travellers who get everything right. They are usually just mates or in a group chat with somebody at the club.

Things change. People at the club might have expected a high pick a week ago. They did ask for 6000 points.

I've been told things from people in the basketball world who are 100% ITK but every now and then the information either changes or is wrong. These are people getting the information first hand. Not randoms online.

But thanks to young Ashcroft, we do not have choice 1 under most phantom drafts.

It was the same last year, many rated Daicos higher than JHF.

I know some that still think Wardlaw is the rolled gold pick 1.

In terms of young talent, we’ve got a fair bit, it might not be a bad result,

we need to get competitive, which means less young kids in and developing players we have.
The Wardlaw highlights suggest he's not going to require very long to get competitive at the level (provided his body holds up).

His value diminishes though when he is out of contract and the opposition club has the first pick in the PSD. It is rare that it comes to that, but it is no doubt a tool used in negotiations.

Yes but it whittles down the likely suitors considerably.
Particularly since gws and gc appear to be the only clubs with two compelling picks to trade.
Neither of which are particularly lacking in elite inside mids.

Mate, this is a move on business, if you're next one is right you can walk back in strutting like you got a 10" and everyone will call you a genius once more.

fair enough mate

i agree that tucker is not worth much. if he's not in the Logue deal, then i suspect he or Hill might be the one for who we trade the future 3rd.

I just really don't think that the future 2nd PP is going to be enough for Logue, his contract status notwithstanding - and i don't think the PSD threat is viable at all. we weren't the only suitors, and i suspect that if it got to that Logue would be happy to accept a deal elsewhere at a team that would be willing to actually cough up the mid to late first rounder that a talented 25 year old key defender should rightly cost.
I understand your concerns, I have them too. However, Logue has apparently nominated North as his club of choice. That means our terms were the best on offer and a F2 pick from a club that will finish last again, is pretty decent value. It's not an empty gesture, Freo have no leverage here, it gets done. I'd almost think the F3 gets it done and depending on how desperate the situation with Clark at the Saints gets, F2 might be relevant there.

We have about 8 or so 1st Rd picks required for trading this year. Dunkley, Rankine, Taranto, Hopper, Jackson all require either 1 or 2 picks and the majority will need at least 1 top 10 unless you offer something like the 1st overall pick.

Plus, most sides trading are top 8 teams so have lesser valued picks as a result.

And if the draft is considered weaker, teams would require higher picks for compensation while higher picks may also appear less valuable to trade by some.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some manoeuvring to get that pick.

It'll get done but if we only offer up the future 3rd, when Freo know we've been given picks specifically to trade for players, then it won't get done until the last minute or until we've already traded the future 2nd for something else.

I'd be pretty shocked if Freo doesn't end up with that future 2nd PP.

Don’t tempt me - I have info on possibly how the Logue trade gets done and some intel on pick 1 but I’ll sit for now as I need to do some more digging to check if it’s worth posting.

Haha, if you're feeling gun shy you can always go with.

"Is it true that Log to North for future 3rd with pick swaps as a sweetener?"

Spot on - the club was looking for and expecting picks totaling close to 6000 points. Didn’t happen - move on.

Don't change your ways because fools don't understand intel. Things change all the time. People misread things, people mishear things. People change their minds. People play games. And people lie. you share intel you trust - its not a rock solid guarantee, nothing is,

it doesnt mean its not great intel at the time.

back yourself and ignore the idiots.
