Just can't see any club would give up 1 for 3 and 12. The no1 pick has not been traded for 21 years for a reason. If you could have it for just 3 and 12, it would be moved regularly. It has to be a massive haul and GWS has that (though they don't have another top10 pick).

“A bounty of pics” all piled up to go anywhere else than where they should. FK off media! Fk off Port!
When TF does the media actually come out and say, “North getting reamed in this deal!”
The most unprofessional media organisation in the world. Stop barracking for your own clubs and be objective. It’s sickening.

They better be multiple 1st or F1s otherwise they aren't a bounty of picks. They are s**t picks bundled as points.
We can't use a "bounty of picks" this year anyway, as we are running out of list spots.

Futures yes but anymore picks this year would need to be bundled up for something else.

Is Peter NQR?

Port are opting out of a deal that they actually benefit from? WTF

I have a distinct feeling that Port are the only club feeding the media.
I read that as "opting out" of ponying up, hence deal doesn't work.

It is absolutely certain that once close of business wednesday comes by there will be a glut of "oh but we did our best to get JHF over" articles that are released to attempt to help hinks and the koshball save face.

I’m mindful if we get 19, that west coast pull a swifty and bid on Harvey, swallowing our 19 and giving them the all valuable first pick of the second round. They love bidding on a north affiliate.

So I’m all for trying 19 for Clark
If Eagles bid on Harvey at 19 they can have him.

He is valued in the 40s-50s.

The one thing he is missing is the blistering pace of his father.

It’s really annoying, it’s been 6 days and Port haven’t even tried to give up anything but 8, Future 1st & Bonner.
You have to make sacrifices to get good players, they should understand this before going after contracted players. In fact they’ve gone after more players in the mean time.
On top of that they’ve actively tried to stop any persuasion of their contracted players towards leaving by contacting their agents.

For a team under a fair bit of pressure to improve, they really aren’t willing to risk anything for that.

I suggest that West Coat might be willing to give us pick 2 for our future first, given that they see some quality WA kids at the top of next year's draft, and they would be willing to bet we are bottom 3 again.

We can also deal directly with GWS for pick 1 and take their 3 and 12 (and maybe 19) for that.

JHF does not have to be involved in either of those win-win trades. Port just has to shake a very good player loose to go along with 8 and future first round. If they won't do that, then we hold onto him and still walk away with an outstanding trade period result and a powerful hand at the draft.
Not sure I'd want to give up our future 1st. Harley Reid looked better underage than most of this years draft pool

It’s such a simple transaction being made complicated. We tell Port what we want, it should be based off the Tom Boyd deal - which was Pick 4 + Ryan Griffen (Dogs capt). Now they won’t include Wines, but it has to be someone that is considered in the top 5 at their club. How they do this - is not our problem, it’s the price to pay for going after another club’s contracted players.

If they can’t get it done, try again in 12 months time, when he is out of contract.

We are wasting way too much time on this deal, when we could be focusing on something else.

We can be focusing on multiple deals at once.

AFL trade period: AFL steps in to stop Port Adelaide trading two future picks in Jason Horne-Francis deal

www.heraldsun.com.au

The AFL has rejected Port Adelaide’s bid to sidestep league rules and trade future first-round and second-round picks to get Jason Horne-Francis to Alberton.

Clubs can trade multiple future selections as long as a first-round pick is not involved but the complexities of various brewing deals this fortnight led Power officials to ask if there was a way around those regulations.

The news is a setback to plans for a four-club megadeal that emerged on Friday night and would have involved the Power, North Melbourne, West Coast and Greater Western Sydney.

The Giants were set to score pick one, the Kangaroos selections two, three and possibly Port’s future first-rounder, the Eagles Nos.8 and 12, plus Horne-Francis and Junior Rioli would have arrived at the Power.

The Power have struggled to satisfy North in the first week of trades.
The Power have struggled to satisfy North in the first week of trades.

The idea was for a series of pick swaps this year and next to round out the deal, including Port Adelaide’s future second-round selection.
This development means the Power will almost certainly have to trade a player of decent value to gain an extra draft pick to unlock the deal.

GWS could also pivot to trade picks three and 12 – plus potentially a later selection as a sweetener – in return for North Melbourne’s No.1, which could be used on promising key forward Aaron Cadman.

Roos list boss Brady Rawlings has so far been adamant they expected more from Port than its pick eight and future first-round selection to broker a trade for young star Horne-Francis, last year’s top pick

Lol Port.
So, when is Kochie, the self proclaimed financial guru going to start giving financial advice to JHF about the $3.2M he aint getting?

Here's one. Don't count your chickens before they're hatched.

Wonder if Fabian is on speed dial cancelling all the crap he ordered?
