Prioritise free agents so Moore, Pearce, Sicily, Gardner and laverde
Ok, just for the Ziebull, Alex will not leave WA. I stirred him and his dad up Monday night (pub meal), as I always do when we catch up......... he ain't interested and he ain't coming!!!

He won't, but I get your thinking. I'd love him at our club, but he's settled in WA, and about to be even more so :thumbsu:

Sicily and Laverde are not key position players. I’d rather Ziebell plays another 10 years than have Laverde on our list.He is the epitome of a list clogger

Laverde was playing full back last year for essendon and was pretty decent he’ll play full back again this year for them

sicily is a third tall but helps us structurally

Laverde improved but not overly mobile. An undersized fb. We have a proper sized full back and he is miles better. If we are in the market for a 3rd defender, mobile and can intercept, Laverde aint it

Marty Hore, on the other hand, potentially is. He’s rated elite as an intercept player. Pre-injuries, the Melbourne board were comparing him favourably to Lever.

The best three targets for us available are Pearce, Moore and Sicily. All three of which will cost a lot. Happy to pay it too. Sicily probably the most likely, Pearce obviously well documented injuries and Moore too but a superstar with a superstar price tag.

I think for a 3rd option he could be a good pick up. Body let him down a bit. And cheap.

Any inner srote news

from the club not about you 😛

Howdy nothin, I haven't really invested in that space tbh. Been too busy getting my car back after it was towed , worst date night ever!! And fyi for $361.00 they don't even detail it. Yes I too was shocked- the dude at the Collingwood car pound had no sense of humour when I suggested improvements to their valet parking service.

Just glad it wasn’t you impounded. I thought an unscrupulous tinder date may have gotten the better of you.

🤣🤣 Hope you had car in your possession when cracking said jokes

And the 2014 Durdin, Nielson, Vickers-Willis draft put the club back 10-12 years in terms of development for 1, 2 and 3rd tall defenders. Joel Tippett was also a rookie elevation in 2014.

We wouldn't have picked up Walker if that draft had of panned out in terms of what was a big investment via the draft.

The same can be said of the recent drafts which has a had a huge investment in the midfield, flankers and medium forwards.

10-12 years haha, that’s a stretch bro. They were all from the 1 draft, so let’s call it setting us back 1 year.

It’s about 5 years that we waited to see if durdin and evw would come good.

What’s that got to do with setting us back 10- 12? Every club has hits and misses. No doubt there was a period where we drafted poorly, but there are multiple factors as to why we are in a full rebuild. Topping up with B and C grade players from other clubs was the most significant factor in my opinion.

Umm..you wait for 5 years for development for multiple KPD and then discover they are all not up to it which requires another 5 years if you go back to draft.

We were fortunate we got McKay in the following draft and then topped up with players from other clubs i.e. J Walker and Corr. But still one to two short in terms of our list.

Much like Richmond are short after CCJ gave them the middle finger eh, bro.

When you draft duds - you need to find other ways to get players in.

I still don’t see where this ‘setting us back 10-12 years’ is coming from. We would have known 2-3 years into the Durdin/Neilson draft that they might not make it. You seriously think the club waits until they’re delisted until they address holes in our list? We recruited McKay what 1 year after those two? It is one position on a list, I just can’t fathom how you think it has set us back that long.

I also think you’re undervaluing how FA/trade can fill holes. You’re basically using the draft as the only solution to fill holes on a list. In the last 2 off seasons we have filled a hole up either end with Corr and CCJ.

Richmond are probably a bit short up forward with the loss of CCJ, but it hasn’t set them back a decade has it? A year ago we were laughed at for not picking McDonald with our first pick. A year later we’re stocked with Larkey, Comben, Edwards and CCJ. This is clear evidence that things can change pretty quickly in specific areas of the list.

I think we need to add stocks to our defence no doubt, but saying we’re 10-12 years behind is a massive over exaggeration.

Which we have. We recruited McKay straight after those ‘duds’ and we recruited Corr. Ideally we need another tall down back, but to say we have been set 10-12 years back is ridiculous.
