Nah they have some very good youngsters that they want to keep, not much point one in one out. Plus those picks are key in unlocking other deals, without them teams are going to be scrambling which is where an opportunity may open up for us. Anyway it’s going to be an interesting few days that might yet throw up some surprises.
If Port want and they don't have enough picks then it's either put players up to help with trades or bow out and leave trading to those that can.

So… just maybe…

Out: Long (tr.) Clark (tr.?)

In: Cordy Haynes

Not great. Not awful.

*This doesn’t include the draft picks we bring in.

Pass the crack pipe lads you're off chops.

Not that Battle should be moved from the backline.

HF: Steele - Battle* - Owens
F: Membrey - King - Higgins

Teams are looking at Josh Bruce , Newnes de-listed and Dunstan playing 2s at Melbourne and Acres moved to Carlton.
Looks like everyone we have moved on needed to be moved on.
These guys were senior members of our team , so people should be able to see how our list has improved and is still being improved.

Yep, something will fall our way at 10 if we stay there. It is a good spot to be. That has no relevance to trading Clark for 15 (16) though

Here is what PMBangers gave us last week. Order has changed a bit since then.

That pick gets you well out of that 2nd tier of players. Thats why I also wouldn't be looking at trading down and splitting our first

If the JHF and Jackson trades get done I reckon it could look something like:
Bris - Ashcroft
North - Wardlaw
North - Sheezel
GWS - Cadman
Ess - Tsatas
GC - Basslinger
Hawks - Mattaes
Cats - Humphrey
WC - Jye Clark
Saints - McKenzie

Key back = Cordy
Key forward/ruck = Ratugolea (future 2/3rd round?) or Riccardi from GWS
Mid = Matt Crouch + pick one from the delisted players eg. Narkle, Stocker, Dow?
Actually, I will take 2 out of the 3 so Sandringham’s midfield will be more than competitive next year, delisted players also have extra incentive to try to make it

Try to get another first round pick if someone offers a top 10 pick for Clark or Gresham

Go to the draft with 9, another 1st round pick (if Clark goes), 28, 32, pretty good haul I’d say

Just for starters players need to agree to any trade you can’t just trade them. Anyway you look at this it is a massive complication that will potentially sink not just HF being traded to port but other deals that were dependent on those picks changing hands. No pick two heading to north then perhaps no pick 1 heading to gws and so on.

I’m looking forward to three days of an all in Barney, Brisbane V bulldogs looks amusing as well. The bulldogs have drawn a line in the sand and according to reports they have board support to say no deal if Brisbane don’t come up with a better offer. Looks to me as if clubs have made offers without any real though as to how they’ll actually get deals done. If the media had any integrity they’d be laying the boots into these clubs instead of us for a change.

Well considering all but newnes who played some good football for carlton would still be getting games if they were on our list I’m not sure how you come up with that. When you add in what we actually received when they left it looks more like rank stupidity to me.

A fit bruce along with acres walks into our best 22 imo and dunstan would still be getting games and would definitely have played senior football for us in 2022 Imo.

I understand premo, they were replaced by better players
King > Bruce
Naz > Newnes
Windy/Owens > Dunstan
Only one I would consider would be Acres but we lose nothing with DMAC/Wood on the wings and considering was playing well with Freo and they lowballed him, there is something going on with him.
Is it an attitude/ team rules issue? If there wasn't an issue Freo would have found a way to keep him
The others wouldn't get a game.

We’re out looking for someone to support king which is exactly what Bruce would have done. Acres is simply a victim of Fremantle having cap problems with Jackson being offered stupid money. I’m not saying newnes or dunstan are the answer going forward as obviously they’re not just that they’d have played.

The idea is to move on when you have something better and to maximise the return on players you trade out, I’d argue we did neither so I sure as hell wouldn’t be crowing about it. You could argue that we might have won a couple of games we didn’t and made finals. Anyway what‘s done is done but people are going to keep biting back when poor trading imo is painted as a success.

Contract year? This season was the first year Acres has averaged more than 20 possessions a game since 2018.

Much prefer Wood, provides defensive assistance along with goal scoring capability - which is something Acres has never been able to do.
