That one month of footy was so bad that he disgraced his uniform. No amount of dash and good disposal is going to absolve a defender from being abject at their primary role - you know; to defend. He was embarrassing and was rightly given just a one year contract very late in the piece as a result.

I think Clark will take Willo's position out right from round 1. Carbon copy player but way better in the contest.I remember seeing similar stuff written about Michael Johnson in 2011.
Reality is we don’t know why he played poorly the last month of last season. It’s a new season - he’ll play in the pre season and his performance there will depict whether he starts the season in the side.
Fully fit I still think he has a lot to offer.

Still recovering from his foot injury the last I heard. Not running yet.I haven't heard anything about Johnsom during the preason, any updates?
Hitting 9 out of 10 would make Ryan the best kick in the league by some distance. He’d barely be above Wilson when it comes to hitting targets.
Ryan is ranked 19th in the AFL for DE at 85.5%. He had 332 kicks and 82 handballs.Hitting 9 out of 10 would make Ryan the best kick in the league by some distance. He’d barely be above Wilson when it comes to hitting targets.
Way to discredit your entire post lol. Most interestingly, our best midfielder for retaining possession is Connor Blakely who hits a target 81.9% of the time.
It’s difficult to judge Wilson, with our best defenders playing he provides the run and dash, kick to advantage.I think Clark will take Willo's position out right from round 1. Carbon copy player but way better in the contest.
That is why Ryan should take all the kick outs from the square and put them to Young, Wilson or Chapman. The ball would be on our wings within a matter of seconds.Well he was the best kick in the league at one point but only just!
Walker, Clark, are in that mix too. If we don’t smoke the oppositions on the larger grounds I’ll be astounded. That is why Ryan should take all the kick outs from the square and put them to Young, Wilson or Chapman. The ball would be on our wings within a matter of seconds.

Do you wear a suit to work?
And lawyers...The only people who wear suits in 2022 are funeral directors.
Not even most lawyers these days - only those in court in my experienceAnd lawyers...
The stat is the actual kick itself/result, it either hits the target (mark), the ground, out of bounds (on the full) or is intercepted. The key is whether the kick gave up possession to the other team. In this case, the out of bounds and intercepted are negative.Effective kick is defined as any kick that goes over forty metres and isn't directly intercepted by the opposition or a kick that goes to a team mate.
The best measure for disposal in my view is the metres gained by the next possession in the chain
I'd bet Blakely would be one of the highest handball (5.08) to kick (3.85) ratio players in the team, if not the highest. Obviously t's always easier to hit a target handballing than kicking.Ryan is ranked 19th in the AFL for DE at 85.5%. He had 332 kicks and 82 handballs.
Statistically, Ryan is one of the best kicks in the league.
Interestingly, Brennan Cox is the No 3 in the AFL and averages over 90% DE. He actually does hit targets 9 out of 10 times!
Wilson comes in at a not-to-shabby 79.8% (124th) just behind Griff Logue (121st) and Hayden Young (95th)

Sounds like you've spent quite a bit of time in the company of lawyers. Not even most lawyers these days - only those in court in my experience

The 40 metres is a rubbish indicator as a 30 metre kick into the 50 for a mark and a set shot should be an effective kick.
4 more weeks outI haven't heard anything about Johnsom during the preason, any updates?
