Just on Kelly, I saw him at the match today and he was limping. Hard to diagnose obviously, but wouldn't think he would be up and about a day later walking back and forth if it it was too horrible. Not good but maybe not too bad.

No crutches or anything? I saw him at 3 QT at the vfl game and didn't look too bad

We where 10+ Goals Up so no Need to Risk Kelly
Oh, I 100% agree. He didn't look too worried at the time. Didn't even go down to the rooms. Was only near the interchange the whole time. There was a time where I thought he was gonna come back on

With only 1 VFL game next 3 weeks…he won’t miss much (if minor injury)

Going by Injury Report he was Injured

we knew that. But its not too serious, a few weeks out though. Hip.
Will Kelly can't really afford to miss anything now, including even time on the training track, let alone games, as his failure to make meaningful progress and awful injury history could well test the patience of the coaches/list management people. It's obviously just bad luck, especially as he was finding a bit of form over the last couple of weeks, but he needs to be playing and doing a lot of things right, so this latest setback could prove costly for him.

I reckon he’s a chance for a delisting and re-rookie spot at the end of the year. I can’t see the club retaining him on the senior list at this point.

The patience of those who get to make these decisions would have to be wearing out, and I agree, that might be his best/only hope of remaining at the club.

That's probably indicative of the players who'll come in. Ruscoe is a stronger player than what people think. As well as Cox. The fact that he's performing in the VFL shows that he does have a place on the list, even if it is as depth.

I'm a Ruscoe fan, and think there's a spot in our defence just waiting for him. I don't mind if he gets it as soon as this week, though I do suspect changes may be kept to a minimum (probably just Henry for C. Brown).

The return of Henry’s sticky hands alone, are enough for a recall.
So exciting to see him clucking them.
Cox - great.
And Ruscoe showing heaps as a HBF.

I know many won't agree but I wouldn't be promoting him off the back of one great game. Would like to see him bang the door down over a few sustained weeks not a 1 in 4 performance.

The person who imo should get the nod from the couple games I have now watched is Poulter. I'm not too sure what they want from him but he has been working both ends of the ground and getting good consistent numbers.

Not wondering if it's just a matter of them proffering Steele and JD over him on a wing role.

Yeah, I could see them re-rookie him. Given Noble needs to be upgraded from the rookie to senior list.

If our fwd line was not bereft of marking power I’d agree - Mihocek needs support so Henry is the logical inclusion on that basis IMO.

We only do that when there's a purpose attached - eg to create a temporary list vacancy for academy points. I can't think of a time when we've done it just to move a pick from the rookie draft into the national draft - which would be the only benefit.

I think Kelly survives purely due to the dearth of KPPs on our list. If we bring in 1-2 ready made then he could be in trouble.

Plus he’s shown some improvement over the last few weeks in the 2’s. Granted it’s agonisingly slow, but it’s something at least.

Liked how Kelly played in Front vs Coburg

There’s not much point in debating the benefit of doing something like that at this point. A clearer picture will come once the season is over and we have an idea of trade targets and list spots required to be open for the draft/offseason.
