West Coast would know if they sell their Future 1st and have another crap year the AFL will hand them a priority pick. Or perhaps even a free agent leaving next year so the AFL can give them pick 2

Problem is it’ll drop off as soon as Dawson is out of his prime

He turns 30 in 2027, so we at the very least need to capitalise for that 25-27 period IMO

Part of that includes drafting well tonight

His prime will be 28-32 I reckon , late bloomer

Yeah 2025-2030 we need to strike but I feel 2026 realistically if we make some good moves before then

well 21 of the last 23 #1 picks have been victorian, so there is a good chance.

We’re after their F1 so we can get in before a Welsh bid for this kid right here seems to be the consensus. Still so much to play out next year though, we saw what happened with Moir. All the risk lies with us, but even if Draper slides, having a probable top 3 pick to play around with in next year’s midfield heavy draft couldn’t be a bad thing

I think there would be multiple players we are looking at, not least of all his Panthers teammate Phoenix Hargrave and a handful of Victorians as well.

Let's hope Sid has a top end year to remember unlike brother Arlo who slipped from being thought of as a top 10 pick coming into the season and eventually went at #45 and delisted 2 years later.

I think Phoenix Hargrave has a better chance of going higher in the draft next year than Draper.
I was surprised Phoenix didn't get a spot at the AFL academy
