Pretty sure this is the first mention of Curtin in this threadControversial too but I'd love another WA product KPD Daniel Curtin.

Footage probably suggests Curtin, Edwards and Ryan were always the plan.
A few bit and pieces at the start I hadn't seen before
No idea .. never seen him beforeWho is the bloke at the start when Reidy is standing and talking, that’s sitting next to him in the crows polo?

Got to wonder whether Patton might have a higher ceiling as a KPD/3rd tall than Borlase.Truth be known maybe we didn't have a problem with Powa or anyone else taking Borlase...
AFL Draft 2023: Port Adelaide takes Xavier Walsh in rookie draft, Crows redraft Hamill, Borlase
The Crows played a dangerous game, but were rewarded at the rookie draft, redrafting two former players as the Power claimed an athletic key forward from WA.
Probably right mate. I suspect it'll be worth a lot more next year anyway.Well that was never going to fly...

West coast have possibly had the best record of playing finals consistantly in the AFL since it became a national comp.Hey Peeps,
First of all. Really well done on your 2023 draft.
Nabbing Curtin, C.Edwards (one of my favs) and Oscar Ryan who looks rock solid is a really good result. Cudos.
We've had a few ask on our board about the actual trade offer. It's been directly confirmed by someone from the Eagles who's part of the draft team, the offer was F1 for 8. Nothing else, just a straight swap.
So potentially Curtin for Draper I suppose.
I hope this help all
Cheers,
AE

actually yes mate you were the poster i was referring to pre-draft. many thanks for your respectful input on our board.First of all well done on nailing the draft, excluding the two charity clubs who were always going to get good players I thought Crows and (unfortunately) Freo made off like bandits given their picks. Would have been a perfect draft for you blokes had the tin rattlers not pinched Goad and he was available with your last pick but Curtin is going to be a star. Enjoyed the pre draft banter, particularly with Big Dub and 119others and the rest, let’s do it again next year as we are odds on to have a pick that will get Draper.
If anyone has any intel on this bloke Rawlinson (rookie draft) from Sturt who I’ve never even heard of it would be much appreciated. If not, I look forward to a bit of banter this time next year. Well done.
Ryan is specifically mentioned.How so?
Twomey had us linked with all 3 we drafted, admitedly Curtin only came to the forefront when we got wind the GWS pick was possibly gettable for the right price, when that deal was done Curtin was a no brainer.

After swapping our future second we weren't allowed to swap our future first under the rules.
Where are the posters saying we are a risk averse boring footy club?Every AFL club’s 2023 draft haul analysed, and how their new recruits fit in: Report Card
ADELAIDE CROWS
Their aggression paid off. Did all their work on night one — and pulled off the biggest trade coup, winning a hot race for the Giants’ top 10 pick to select key defender Daniel Curtin. While the Crows have a few tall backs on their list already, Curtin looms as a big upgrade should he blossom at AFL level and could play early in 2024. His intercept ability and excellent composure with ball in-hand was eye-catching throughout the year across all levels. Despite trading, the Crows still kept two more first-round picks and got their man Charlie Edwards — a 190cm bolter from the Sandringham Dragons who’ll give them a big-bodied presence in the midfield — before adding to their defence with medium backman Oscar Ryan, who went a little earlier than most clubs thought. We know how strong the Crows are forward of centre, so they used this year’s national draft to address their midfield and defence.
Grade: A-
We wouldve been allowed to swap our future first.. because even though we’d swapped our F2… we already had another F2 (Melbourne’s) in our posession..After swapping our future second we weren't allowed to swap our future first under the rules.
So if anything it would have to have been another pick in 2023 if anything else.
Maybe Pick 8 and 20 for F1.
