I really hate the idea of priority picks, but if they’re going down the route of an assistance package, this is at least more reasonable than straight up giving them an early pick. Bit rough on the Saints who have just missed out on Mackenzie though
I think I'd feel slightly more open to the idea if he was in their NGA to begin with.

As you say it's pretty stiff on St.k, Melbourne also missed out on access to Mac Andrew.

Sounds like North are going to try and get special dispensation to draft a couple high end NGAs such as Sanders. Similar to what GC got.
That means North won’t be trying too hard to win any more games this year. I’d been thinking they were some chance against the Hawks today but not if they’re serious about going to the AFL with the line “we’re utter crap so give us some handouts”.

And if the AFL accede to North what are they going to be obliged to give the Eagles? 😱

It’d end up being another compromised draft that does nothing for those stuck in the 7-14 range (ie us).

It would be fantastic if we could somehow manoeuvre our way into the top 10 of this year's draft. The talent is exceptional.

Yeah just our luck Dunkley goes the lions probably pick 16 or worst and Jackson goes to the dockers they could get pick 4. Dunkley coming off a B&F we got way unders.

I normally think 'trading up' is fraught with danger, but given we have two first rounders this season and the risk of Croft bid before our later first round I'd consider it this year.
I still love what Watson can do, height be damned.

So seems like a few quiet weeks for Croft then not being selected (or rested / rotated) from the previous game and then not a huge impact today? Great for us if a bid can come in the 20s

I don't think we need to do anything with our first rounders regarding Croft. He's not very good, if someone picks him before our first rounders they can have him.

A bid in the second round would be ideal, most likely falls around the Brisbane pick though.

I’ve never been too worried about a bid coming before our picks. It’s only the real top tier talent that get bid on around their worth. Others seems to slide a bit and I reckon the sand happens with Croft.

Only jamarra and Darcy got bid on where they were rated. Green and Daicos most recently have got a good slide.
