Wilson or Watson.

Moir is sliding due to a poor year as playing injured. I still like his game and potential as a wingman. I would love some of these young skilled midfielders running outside for our team.

The top Inside mids aren’t going to slide to our picks so I am not looking at them this year. It’s outside speed with a solid kick.

Duursma would be a dream get but he is going top 5, by far my favourite that we could maybe get. Reid is going pick 1, Watson should go 2, Duursma/Curtin should be 3/4…. But a lot could change during the championships. The champs will really show us who is worth going after or not. Really hoping Croft plays CHB at the Champs but I think he will play 2KPF and not be as damaging as he could be.

Well if that lot went top 14 we would be a much better chance of using both our first rounders before a bid comes on Croft.

And without Power having to do too much time trying to move up the draft. We just need Croft to have a quiet u18 carnival.

Tholstrup stiff!

Why tf is VM vs SA not on Kayo but allies vs WA is?

Anyway I can watch this from the start - can watch Live on AFL app but I want to watch from start of match

Given Nick Watson’s small stature is he really like to go top 3, surely he slips? Not usual for a guy at that height to be talked as a first rounder let along top 5.

Reckon he’d be an immediate upgrade on our small forwards.

Quiet qtr for Croft, just the one goal from a free kick. First time I’ve really seen him though and I like the look of him, his aggression around the ball is great. Love that all our young KPP at the moment all have that aggressive steak that you need to be a gun at AFL level. All of Marra, Naughty & Darcy will ****ing hurt you when given the chance

It’s a far cry from the Schaches, Boyd’s all the way back to Jarrod Grant. All our ‘next big thing’ KPFs have always been soft in the past

So, it looks like we may have a small, but good dilemma.

Croft is moving up the draft boards each week. Right now on our list, we have Jamarra, Darcy, Naughton as young tall forwards. And our midfield aside from Smith, has no young guns to take over from Libba in the packs, or impact in the way of Bontempelli with bursts from the middle. We definitely need more physically, speed and good smart ball use under pressure.

A bid on Croft before our first pick, could see us taking a Midfielder late in the first round and miss out on one of the best few in the draft.

Do we either package our two firsts and move up, to nab one of the best midfielders, and find latter points to package for Croft?
Hold put and hope the quality of talls in this draft keeps Croft outside of the top 10-15, and we get two live picks before him?

I don't think we will pass on him. It is a good problem to have another tall forward coming through. Means we have options to rotate based on match ups and form. Just assuming he is drafted as a forward for now, can't say he can be a defender like some. Hasn't played down back or shown anything there.

The Jamarra and Darcy bids have probably cost us a couple more picks inside the top 30 in their respective draft years. So we'd hope Croft does not get a bid on to early, especially given there is a few teams down the bottom who need key forwards or have openly said that they will target one this year.

Ideally I hope we can find a couple of elite mids and a big bodied lock down defender like Jones. But our hands could be tied or restricted once again by another potential FS pick.

Going to be interesting how the club balances list needs vs free hit at another potentially good tall forward.

I think you’ve gotta take him, just too good an opportunity not to with discount & being able to bundle picks.

There’s also the option of trading into next years draft and then back in after a bid if we think he’s going high, could backfire if he slides though.

In my ideal world I’d like to trade up our two first rounders to grab a top 10 mid. Take Croft which would likely wipe out our 2nd rounder (which I assume we’d trade back for extra points to cover a Croft bid) that along with our 3x 4ths should cover a decently high bid Id imagine (assuming we’re not talking top 10 which seems unlikely)

What I’d then like to do is trade our 2nd from next year into this year after a Croft bid. Giving us an end result of top 10 mid, Croft, a 2nd rounder and likely a later pick which would be a good haul.

It’s a real shame Doedee has done his knee because that was the sort of perfect FA target to improve our list further. I’d still be looking at McKay depending on price of course. McKay/Jones & one of Buss/JOD is a pretty good mix

You have to take Croft, what happens if Naughty takes a godfather offer reputedly Swans are offering him and we passed on Croft. If it falls into your lap you take it.
