AFL Draft Power Rankings: June 2023

The latest Rookie Me Central AFL Draft Power Rankings are in, with three fresh faces entering a competitive top 20. See who made the cut.

Croft is rising.

Outside of Croft, any 2 of these guys would be exciting! Could set us up.

He’s actually dropped a little in ranking.

In two years' time we're likely to no longer have Libba and Treloar on the list. If we don't start recruiting replacements soon, the situation could be dire, especially since Bont's body may not hold up and Macrae will be in his 30s. We'll lose Keath and probably Bruce, but Jones should still be around, Gardner is still here, and we've recruited Busslinger and O'Donnell in the last couple years, on top of either of Darcy or Croft potentially ending up defenders. No way would I be spending a 1st on another KPD this year unless it's a very, very, very strong case of best available (like Curtin falling to Pick 15 or something like that)

Only one decent young midfielder drafted since Dunkley in 2015. Only one decent young midfielder on our list that was drafted since Bont in 2013.

It could become a list management catastrophe. Although not entirely our own fault.

I can see us going pretty hard to maybe move up using all of our two 1st’s this year and our 1st next year to get two higher picks this year. Would only be worth it if we could reach high enough to get a Duursma etc. Then maybe a Sanders or Wilson with the other. Take Croft as well.

Then maybe move another future first in to next off season to get another mid in 2024.

Lack of midfield talent coming through, although not a massive issue at the moment, can become a massive issue pretty quickly if not addressed.

I'm a fan of Garcia's unfortunately his body has stopped him getting a sustained run of games.

They’re small inside midfielders that aren’t better than Bont, Libba or Treloar so have been wedged into half forward roles. If they both had the speed or size to play on the wing it would totally change the complexion of our list, as I like them as players and they’re the right age. Alas.

I'm liking some of the midfielders who are a bit outside the first round. Hall is impressive. Demattia, Brown, Hall, McAuliffe could slide to there.

I’m still on the Koltyn Tholstrup bandwagon for us, I think he will develop into a mid at the next level. Seems perfect for us. He is hard and tough, penetrating kick, really powerful. Great size at 188cm.
And he will start off as a half forward who plays stints in the midfield at the beginning of his career so that’s great for where our midfield is placed right now.

Plus struts around with that elite curly mullet.

Was pretty much nearly invisible for the most part of the game last night. Have some question marks in regards to him was expecting him to show a little bit more.

Based on last night I doubt Hall is falling outside the first round it was him and Curtin that kept WA in that game for most of it.

Around 30ish, could be one way or another when it comes to whether we will get him or not. He has some good attributes.

In the limited u18 football I have see I’m hoping we trade up for Nick Watson. I think he would be absolutely perfect for us.

This team is crying out for some more pace and a clean and creative forward half link up player. He also seems to apply good pressure. Reckon you can bank on him playing round 1 next year and being a good player from day dot.

Vic Metro getting smashed around the ball and disposal when they do have it is bad due to the Allies pressure. Sanders playing a pretty good game again.

Croft's second efforts at ground level are pretty good for a guy his size. Quite quick too. Not the game for someone who plays out of FF though, good to see him get some ruck time though
