Imo if you’re doing well for Rd 15 you’re clearly missing a gun premo or 3. That round is fuarked. I’ve done it before where I’ve traded to cover for donuts, if I can field 16 in that round I’ll be happy.

I have 7 premos missing in round 15. All have very high ownership.

Looking at premos who have that bye, who I don't have:
English (46%), JHF (27%), Cripps (17%), Butters (17%), Walsh (10%), Macrae (10%)

English is the big one, and I want him. Hoping to luxury trade up to him in round 16.


I'm still screwed in round 15 though. Won't have any rookies. I'll be relying on McAndrew, Chesser, Sharp and Constable to be playing, which isn't looking good (even if they play, they won't score well).

Trying to find the middle ground myself

Certainly will not compromise my team for rnd 15 but absolutely i'm looking to have a fair representation. I think there's a few guys not being talked about enough in the trades thread which is clear as day for me. Cough cough Zerrett

If Cincotta and Simpson are recalled, which seems very possible, I'll have 20.
If by some miracle Constable is picked I'll have 21.

Was doing some scrolling through the top 100 to see if I recognised any teams from years gone when I played more consistently.

Came across these 2 teams ranked 20th and 62nd overall.

Coincidence? Or double dipping.

Good spreadsheet. I'd just be careful re projected cash-out prices though – I find it's always beneficial to go slightly below projected with rookies, as one bad score at this time of year usually kills their cash gen.

Main one I'd point out is Ford – for him to make $220k in four games, he'd need to average more than 80 over that period. Think that's a little ambitious at this stage. A 65 or 50 average calculation is more what I'd lean towards personally.



EDIT: just realised your plan is for three Ford games. The above becomes even more pertinent now.

EDIT: just realised your plan is for three Ford games. The above becomes even more pertinent now.

It is 4 games for Ford to generate cash - he's a trade out for Cameron after the bye rounds are over. But your point is sound. I was a little lazy with not doing proper calculations around the likely cash gen of Kennedy, Wines, Briggs and Ford.

There's plenty of fallbacks though. Such as trading in a second tier premo mid ($550kish) rather than a top shelf pick ($600k). And Cameron is really a luxury trade at the end of the byes for Ruck cover. I don't really have to do that unless Darcy doesn't come back or Marshall goes down.

Just seemed unusual two teams right up the top with essentially the same name.

I've done a 180 on my whole bye round strategy. instead of keeping the rookies with job security through the byes, im using the 3 trades per round to try and upgrade to full premo & hope that enough decent rookies come along. So instead of having plenty of cash after this round, im exhausting all of my spare cash and getting Macrae & D.Cameron (& Ford) for Ashcroft, Ginbey & Atkins

Next week i will be aggressive again & just hope there isnt too much carnage and that some decent rookies come along.

I can trade in Dawson instead and have 4 trades left with a "completed" team

I'm not too sure which way to go.
Obviously, Dawson is a much better SC player than Ridley, but after the bye rounds we still have 9 rounds to go - so trades are pretty precious
