39,269 in an amazing crowd considering. No other club would draw nearly as many in similar circumstances.
Didn't realise Perth had so many masochists

Gee it's annoying that the 2 games are on at the exact same time, even a 5 min difference helps, so you could at least catch the last 5 mins of each quarter of the other game. Terrible for tv ratings too, it's a really strange approach at head office.

I don't think many Victorian teams on the bottom of the ladder and looking at another loss would get that sort of crowd against an interstate team in Melbourne - so well done WC supporters.

I reckon it is because Freo and Eagles don’t have ‘general admission’ tickets or memberships like what I hear exist in Victoria.

All members with access to games have reserved seats. Those who don’t, have to buy general public tickets (for which at Optus there is only about 10,000 required to be available) during the couple of hours of members pre-sale period, before being released to the general public. With so few general public tickets available to each game, there isn’t an influx of non-members to high profile games.

And with how high the cost is for the reserved seat memberships, they are pretty committed to going to the game. And those who can’t make certain games, pass their tickets onto mates.

There is also the fact that there is no AFL members or MCC members sections at Optus Stadium which at the MCG can bring an influx of neutral supporters attending high ladder contests, meaning those teams get much lower crowds in comparison when they are at the bottom of the ladder and the neutrals don’t attend. Where as in Perth, that neutral supporter influx doesn’t really happen, so there is less of a fluctuation in the crowd size based on ladder position.

Good Bomber support as usual! I think that also help prop up the crowd figure last night! At the start of game, it looked like 28-30 k crowd!

I meant terrible crowd in context of what we’ve been accustomed to with Eagles games over time. In truth it’s a wonderful headline figure. 39,000 given what the Eagles are going through parallels their 105,000 membership, reinforcing the force they truly are.

Agree on Bomber support. The WA Bombers are a vast group of supporters and I noted the commentators last night talked about the noticeable presence of red & black in the stands and the noise (despite the ho hum stakes) the Bomber fans made. It’s hard to gauge support, I suspect Bomber fans took advantage of the Eagles members returning their seats for sale as you could see red & black noticeably around most parts of the stadium.

Anyhow, given the relative hopelessness of Essendon teams playing in Perth in seasons past, it was good the Bombers fans could enjoy a relatively stress free victory. Abd crefit to the Eagles who out up a much better effort and contest on the night.

Kids free entry for Tigers / Power tomorrow. Depends on weather. Anything between 26-34,000 I’d say. Possibly more?

If it starts with a 2 I’d be pretty disappointed.

There would not be too many Richmond crowds at the G with a 2 at the start over the last decade.

I think we got 44K in the 18/19 period and 22K last year on a Thursday night out of form.

Let’s say 33K would be a decent roll out.

The question is (Which we will never know) is how many Tiges would have turned out of Dimma did do a send off game?

I think the 90K floated on Sen is a stretch, but it could have been 50-60K.

There‘s only been 9 from the last 10 (non Covid) seasons. But it has happened 3 of the last 5 times you’ve played non Vic teams there.

Sub 30k near certainty here in Adelaide. Pouring rain, shocking time slot, our crowds continue to take a hammering.

I have a feeling my rough estimate for Pies / Roos crowd will hold true. It looks around the 40,000 mark, so possibly slightly below my earlier estimate.

I will stick my neck out and say 39,350.
