Collingwood ruckman Darcy Cameron has been sent in for scans on a hamstring injury according to the Herald Sun.

According to the report, Cameron was unable to finish Collingwood’s training session on Wednesday morning due to the concern with soreness in his right hamstring inhibiting his movement.

If scans come back confirming a standard hamstring strain, Cameron could be sidelined for up to a month.

With Collingwood’s Round 1 clash against Geelong still more than six weeks away, the report says the club are confident the ruckman will play in the season opener.

While he’ll likely be fit for that game, a standard hamstring strain could rule him out of both of Collingwood’s practice games which take place against Carlton (match simulation) on February 24 and Hawthorn on March 2.

If you were going to put Alison or Eyre in your team, may god have mercy on your soul.
Someone that's a heart beat can sit on the bench go 40-50 isn't the worst of things

I wasn't expecting Alison to play this year, and before Eyre was injured, we'd already chosen Stocker as a rookie, Eyre still had the jury out , but was unlikely to get picked up even if he hadn't injured himself.

Apart from the others Mason Wood has played as a forward before, though i like his work on the wing a lot better.

State of play: Your club’s pre-season injuries

Jarrod Berry (shoulder) is about a week from joining the main group, as is Jarryd Lyons (groin).

Matthew Kennedy (Lisfranc) and George Hewett (back) are in full training and involved in match simulation

Caleb Marchbank and David Cuningham are on modified programs due to their lengthy injury histories

Veteran Jeremy Howe is having his workload managed, as is youngster Fin Macrae, who has a back issue

Ben King is likely to play at least one practice game, placing him on track to feature in round one after a knee reconstruction

Free of injury, Brent Daniels could be one to watch.

Haynes has regained the weight and strength he lost during a horror 2022. Lachie Whitfield (ankle surgery) took full part in their gruelling training camp.

Max Gawn will be back in full training this next week after his low-grade hamstring injury

Tom Clurey (knee) is also back with the main group along with youngsters Jed McEntee (hamstring), Josh Sinn (abdominal tendon, hernia)

The Saints are hopeful of a return in round six or seven for star forward Max King, who is hitting key milestones in his rehab after a shoulder reconstruction

Nick Coffield (ACL) had hamstring surgery last year but is expected to be available for pre-season games

Well that opens up a spot on the worst ever trades/contract list

Probably means Doc isn't going into the midfield anymore

Could open up a spot for someone like Cowan though
Newman ?

But I think all clubs are seeking speed off HB ....not sure, no he doesn't, Doc provides that ......nor Newman

Probably right Newman is too slow

I hope they give Cowan a decent amount of games

Having bulk thyroid issues in the family I can say this is less likely to be a big issue than it likely causing significant problems for him. You can get days where the treatment (meds mostly) isn't as effective as others and you feel a bit weaker than normal but it can be dealt with pretty easily. I wouldn't be too concerned unless he's just been diagnosed which, at his age and the environment he's been in for so long now, would be unlikely.

Small chance it's something to worry about and going to impact on him but not more than that.
