I spent 13 years exiled in Brisbanal. Thanx sataris for that tune which I cannot get out of my head. I have been lucky to have travelled a bit but nowhere approaches the remarkable level of parochialism displayed in Qld.

The chips on their shoulders are like open cut coal mines.

My mates there could not fathom why I supported the Blooooz in State of Origin… “… but you’re a flippin Mexican Victorian…”.

As for cricket, they were staggered how I depressed I was when a great Oz tradition was wrecked when the Hillbillies won their first Sheffield Shield.

My mates told me Queenslanders make a better celebration of Melbourne Cup Day than Victorians. ”It is wasted on you lot and should be moved here.”

… and that is just sport.

We have Air bnb options in: Payneham, Lockleys, Glenside, Clarence Park and Plympton and have no idea on those suburbs. We would like to have cafes/pub options close by. Any help?
