Come on. Collingwood campaigning for something that benefits them…. Not really going out on a limb there.

In fairness, McRae was responding to the media questions, which was my point - that now that Collingwood had an issue in the ruck, the media would start pushing changing the rules.

If Ladhams had gone down and we were scrambling for a ruck, there wouldn't even be a discussion about it.

David King defended calling off the Tv, reckons they see more due to multi screens etc

Guess none of the media need to go to the grand final etc, just call it from the studio

The whole discussion about that medal is weird though.

They are criticising King for giving votes but not being at the ground, but he is the only one who voted for Rankine who everyone seems to think should have won the medal including the coaches.

I'm feeling that this is going to be one of the most even seasons we have had in a long time. There aren't any god awful or truly dominant teams sticking their hands up.

Collingwood have been terrific. At the moment injuries is the only thing I see holding them back.

In saying that I believe Carlton are favourites. They're not playing well but are still finding a way. Once they click they'll move to another level

Carlton haven’t played finals in a decade. They are good enough to make the finals but not sure about challenging though.

Jack Crisp’s dodgy activities are more likely to hold Collingwood back:

The McKays aren't playing against each other again.
8 seasons now.

Has anyone seen them in the same room?
I mean this image is clearly photoshopped

I like this from Adam Simpson. I'm in favour of all AFL players injuries being described in the context of movie characters.

"How's Robbie Fox's leg injury going?"

Horse: "Well, on a scale of 1 to Lieutenant Dan, I'd say it's about a 4 at the moment."

Every time I hear about something like Sheed's injury I think back to former Sydney ruckman Gareth John, who had to have an emergency tracheotomy to save his life after getting a blow to his larynx in a ruck contest.
Terrific prospect (son of Graeme) whose career was cruelled by injury.

PS His selection at pick 106 in the 1988 draft was in no way an indication of his talent, merely the way F/S selections worked in those days.

Not many realise but a innocuous bump or knock to the throat is life threatening.

I'm so annoyed at Clarkson timing his move to north perfectly. They will improve substantially this season and surely some of it is related to his coaching, but a lot of it is players like Davies-Uniacke and Larkey just maturing enough to be consistently good.

Such a good decision for his legacy as "the greatest coach of all time" to go to north after they have been at the bottom collecting top 5 picks for several years as that cohort gets to 50-100 games.

Hello mate , he has to be a good coach with that record and he really is hoping to get 6-8 wins this year. Sheezel is an absolute star already and has broken the record for most disposals in his first 4 games .

Bedders honest opinion mate with Clarko onboard do the 2014 and 2022 GF floggings and other finals floggings happen?

May be a impossible question to answer i know just something i keep thinking about.

Do you mean with us , if so something that will never be known

Yer with us i just remember how much they talked about the 2012 loss after their 3 peat the loss effected Clarko and it still stirs to him to this day the players said he vowed he would do everything to not lose to us again.

It drove him and the team forward to a 3 peat.

Just musings i get Longmire is a completely different person to Clarko obviously just not sure he is up there in motivation and instilling self belief in the group.

I know i just dont get the GF smashings mate trying to make sense why it keeps happening.

Better team on the day

Things go to shit and you just can't get it back.

There is just lots and lots and lots of mistakes , neither flogging has answer x, oh you should have done this imo.

I guess one thing is don't pick hurt players, or we maybe tighten up on the level of fitness we pass.

I guess I do not believe swap coaches, swap result

It all seems to happen so quickly as well watching in the stands soon as Hawkins got those 2 goals from the ruck i knew it was over.

Its very odd one team is like gliding across the turf full of run while we were lagging meters behind our opponents.

Sport is all sorts of weird and peculiar mindsets and psychology behind results
