Norf will relocate. So with Tasmania seemingly inevitable now, no doubt the AFL will build their list by handing them a boatload of draft picks, half of which immediately wanted to be traded back to Victoria.
But imo, the best and fairest way to build a new team is via an expansion draft.
Norf will relocate.
The AFL won’t want an odd number of sides (19) & won’t want to risk it taking a decade to build a competitive playing list.

Sicily bad mouthing Tasmania is one of the dumbest things I've seen from a captain. Poor form from any Hawks player but specifically their captain is just plain dumb

Expansion draft as in the new team can draft players from existing teams, where the existing teams get to protect a core of, let's say, 18 players which are untouchable?
Why do you say that? There is less than zero chance of any team relocating/folding to bring in Tasmania.
I don't think North have significant financial issues. They are debt free and turned a profit last year. Why do you say that?
I thought it’d be the obvious path forward, particularly given North Melbourne’s ongoing financial struggles.
I suspect the AFL will offer significant incentives. As I noted, they won’t want 19 clubs.I don't think North have significant financial issues. They are debt free and turned a profit last year.
Either way, the supporters are never going to go for it unless they genuinely think the club is on the brink of folding. Which it isn't.
Not so bad in that context, got them both out of the way in the same game.Quick naked eye check

I’d like to see The King! swear his allegiance to the Swans even if a Tasmanian team eventuates.I don't mind a team in Tasmania.
But I can't see the benefit of a 19 team competition. It is still 9 games per round. And it will make the fixture more complicated if each teams is having byes at various points of the season.
Whately was also a bit annoying talking about it on AFL360 on Wednesday night. His attitude was that anyone who votes against a Tasmanian team is going to be judged by history and would be the worst person ever.
The King! why is there a need for another stadium in Hobart?
Why not Bellerive Oval/Blundstone Arena?
Edit: this is behind a paywall
Good sized mid who was an elite junior…,hmmm…Norf dropping Will Phillips is quite baffling.
Surely a rebuilding side needs to get games into the young bloke.
Clarkson would know if the kid is good.Good sized mid who was an elite junior…,hmmm…
Maybe, Maybe not. Pretty sure he doesn’t get everything 100 per cent right.Clarkson would know if the kid is good.
Solid pass from me.
