Interesting assessment of the Blues, even with a wealth of talent in the midfield.

I wonder what our assessment would be.

According to Champion Data, Carlton has a kick rating of -2.7 per cent going inside-50 this season. It ranks No.14 in the competition and is ahead of only St Kilda (-2.8 per cent), Richmond (-3.6), North Melbourne (-3.9) and Hawthorn (-4.9).
'Kick rating' is a Champion Data tool that measures the difference between a player's expected hit rate and actual hit rate. A negative kick rate, in this instance, indicates a player not executing kicks as well as the competition average.
Furthermore, of the 13 Blues players to have had at least 15 kicks going inside-50 this season, only five have a positive kick rating. They are Ed Curnow (+18.7 per cent), Charlie Curnow (+7.5), Jack Silvagni (+6.5), Matt Kennedy (+4.9) and Blake Acres (+4).

Eight have a negative kick rating. They are Adam Cerra (-0.6 per cent), Adam Saad (-2.5), Patrick Cripps (-2.5), George Hewett (-6), Ollie Hollands (-7), Harry McKay (-8), Sam Walsh (-9.2) and Nic Newman (-12).
Slow movement and an inability to use the footy effectively when they do go forward makes the job of a key forward difficult. But when an opposition backline knows exactly where you're kicking it as well, that task gets even harder.

Hewett has gone backwards this year

So basically our season finished at 3 quarter time in the 2022 prelim and starts again in round 1 2024

Remember in the Prelim Jmacs steal and goal in the third, where we got to 35 up 11:30 to go

Papley then kicks a point so 36 up with 9:30 to go in the third, thinking cool Sydney are into the grand final.

From that point

Collingwood 6.7.43
Sydney 1.2.8

Well in fact since leading by 36 in the prelim

Sydney 121.109 - 835

Opponents 144.105 - 969

percentage 86.17

wins 3 losses 8 (saying the rest of pies game is a loss)

While I am bored and cherry picking if you discount the suns and hawks games because they are rubbish (though suns better now)

Sydney. 88.79. 607
Opponents. 131.85. 871

percentage. 69.69

Wins 1 Losses 8 (pies rest of game loss)

thank **** for hawks suns since that point in the prelim

And of those 8 losses, 4 of them (Collingwood, Geelong, Melbourne and Port) we can't even blame injuries, though Port game had them happen.

jmacs goal was good though

The poor bugger missed a year with back surgery.
Playing the inside mid role is not something that would help prolong his career.
He missed the last 3 or 4 rounds of last season

He is obviously playing in a lot of pain. Prefers to handball and kicking has no penetration now (and he was a great kick off both feet).

Clarko is stepping away from footy , i know his family doing it really hard , this is not fair on them . Whatever you think of him believe me he's innocent ! as are the other 2
I cant believe he is guilty of what he's been accused of. The media love going after a tall target and dont care about the fall out

Whateley declared the allegations the second coming of the stolen generations. The clown he sits next to on 360 said it was reminiscent of the slave trade.

Now Whatetely is on radio pretending to care about just process.

The media are 🤮.

Correct , he's now probably heard what the circumstances are

The whole thing is timing... is unique.

We are on the eve of the Dreamtime round.

AFL has just not 2 hours ago. Pledged to support the voice.

What happened ,happens at all clubs , people are advised if things are spiralling out of control , like drug use in the family affecting others and it just not indigenous players either . It's an absolute beat up , i know.

Thats a pretty simplistic way to look at things.

I'd offer that a club-commissioned review based on interviews with First Nations players is as rare as hens teeth.

That the findings of this review then lead to the circumstances of two coaches being implicated. Rarer still.

That one of the coaches takes leave on eve of one of the most important matches in reconciliation history. Just after the AFL has pledged support for the Yes vote on the upcoming referendum.

It's simplistic at all , i know more than what i can say . Now back to Norway
And don't worry our club has had issues
