GWS is a 50-50.At this point I unironically think that making the eight would be a great effort from here. It looks like 12-11 might be enough to make it this year so we might be able to do it. Will be tough though given our next four games:
GWS (H)
WBD (A)
PORT (A)
MELB (H)
I would bite your hand off for a 2-2 record from that fixture. At least it would give us a shot at finals.

Clark is out for a couple of months. Could be more.Nor Jhye. Listed as āmedium termā but hearing it could end up being ālong termā depending on whether they try and ānip itā (surgery) or manage it and see how it goes (and if not right nip it later!).
Both Stanley and Holmes won't play until at least round 16.GWS is a 50-50.
Bulldogs will be a hard task.
But Port & Melb will be an easier task with possibly Danger/Guthrie/Holmes/Bowes/Stanley back in the side.
The return from the bye vs Port in Adelaide will be the key to our run home.
** Lucky we have an easy 3 game stretch after that... will give us 3-0 run which might right the ship if indeed things don't go our way.
Thinking that was expected after last week's news thoughOh god Clark out for a couple of months too, this year can gtfo, we will be playing mids out of the GFL soon!!!

Based on the information coming out of the club, he apparently hasn't existed on the GFC's list at all for what seems like forever. So maybe they really did just totally forget that he was at the Cattery.Im really not sure what hes been doing for the last 6 months if hes only on the alter G now. Seems like slow progress.

I wonder if one of the property stewards stumbled upon Flynn while cleaning out one of the ancillary equipment rooms recently. And then started asking around if anyone recognised this young fellow at all. Anyway, glad they got it sorted out eventually and Kroeger can hopefully progress towards returning to the field this year. Thank heavens for #forthright, I guess.
And before anyone starts up with their protestations that there are some here who are never happy, it's actually really simple. Just one proper mention of Flynn's injury status at the start of the season ('He's coming from a long way back, don't expect to see him any time soon.'), along with actually registering his name on the injury list each week, would have been absolutely adequate. And actually respectful to a young man who actually is alive and on an AFL list, despite the club's continued intimations to the contrary.
I keep hearing this line about players supposedly asking for their names to be kept out of injury updates. Yet it doesn't happen like this at any other club in the competition. And I seriously believe you're unlikely to cope with the pressure of AFL footy if you can't cope with your name appearing on what is supposed to be a comprehensive injury list each week. If he's not facing up to the reality that he's injured and it's a challenging time for his AFL dream, suppressing his name from being recorded anywhere is really not going to help at all.Early season he was mentioned as out following hip surgery back in December
And like majority of the long term injuries this year, they haven't presented weekly updates as there's often no new information. And considering the difficulties he's reportedly been going through in his recovery, maybe keeping his name out of the weekly updates was about respect & something Flynn asked for while they worked through things

There doesn't need to be a Lloyd 'update' (if that's what you can call them) on Flynn's recovery along the way, if there's no new information. But omitting his name completely from any club information updates for weeks/months at time is just nonsensical to me. It gives the appearance of being dismissive of both him and the supporter base, for what I believe to be no meaningful advantage whatsoever.
Could be wrong, of course. But I think his first time on the published injury list since the start of the actual season was this week. That's just pathetic in my view.Who said anything about the bolded - seems a pretty big leap, especially as it hasn't been suppressed and he has been listed as injured

But I'd think for a 19yr old who's dealing with potentially significant injury concerns, where a return to football sounds a long way away, that affording them privacy while working through things shouldn't be hard to ask

The Cowan vibes are strong...To exclude him - as if he's disappeared into a black hole - just seems odd.
He wasnāt even on the injury list as TBC or āLong termā. Itās not possible to hide the fact that a player on the list is nowhere to be seen.Early season he was mentioned as out following hip surgery back in December

Lloydie just thought we'd cleared him to Collingwood. He wasnāt even on the injury list as TBC or āLong termā. Itās not possible to hide the fact that a player on the list is nowhere to be seen.
So it's good enough to speak his name back then, and yet supposedly his name then doesn't appear on the injury list from week to week because it might be damaging to his mental health. Just seems wildly inconsistent and arbitrary to me.This is from Lloyd talking to the media in March after our round 2 match:
Youngsters James Willis and Flynn Kroeger will continue to build up their fitness levels after both having hip surgeries in December.
Both in the second year on Geelongās list, Willis and Kroeger had their 2022 campaigns hit by injury and are yet to get a good run at game time in the hoops.
āWith both we are looking at the bigger picture,ā Lloyd said.
- Willis was able to progress through his rehab and is now back playing. Things seem a lot more serious for Kroeger who wasn't able to step up his involvement at training involvement, and sounds like his hip issues are more serious than initially expected
I think it's clear that the club would beg to differ on this point. He wasnāt even on the injury list as TBC or āLong termā. Itās not possible to hide the fact that a player on the list is nowhere to be seen.
Itās a variation on āIf a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear itā¦ā
Will the media finally admit that we have injuries issues or will they continue with the narrative of teams that are beating us causing an "upset"
