I would say all things equal and all players fit we would rank our tall forwards as

Amiss
Lobb
Tabs (like it or not)
Logue
Treacy

Jackson replaced Lobb so net zero at least position wise. Logue was injury cover forward/back.
Amiss 45 goals in 25 games (1.8)
Lobb 167 goals in 160 games (1.04)
Tabs 167 goals in 120 games (1.39)
Logue 10 goals in 79 games (0.13)
Treacy 29 goals in 36 games (0.81)

someone doesn't belong in this list. He played forward because there were better players down back but he was too good to leave at Peel

Looking at what GC did with Joel Jeffrey the other day I'm hoping this is us exploiting another GC list management stuff up. Very curious to see how he goes in the intraclubs and pre-season games, there's a round 1 spot for him if he plays well

So if Sharp goes to the rookie list how many national draft picks are we expecting to take?

I count 39 listed players.
Draper and Williams as cat-B rookies.
Worner, Kuek, Riedy and Stanley as rookies.

So we are at 33 primary listed players. Min 36 players on Primary List, Max of 38. Max of 44 players total (prior to supplemental selections).

Three to five picks possible in the national draft. After the drafts we will place Corbett on the long term injury list (inactive list) and use that vacated place to add Sharp (this bumps us up to 45 total)

3 ND picks = 36 primary, 8 rookies = 2 rookie picks
4 ND picks = 37 primary, 7 rookies = 1 rookie pick
5 ND picks = 38 primary, 6 rookies = 0 rookie picks

Someone please check my maths on this.

There is every likelihood that we once again do our classic move of leaving a rookie list spot open for train on players, not recruiting any of them and leaving it open for the mid season draft, then deciding to not pick anyone in the MSD

Agree. Logue was a 🥔 and a top 10 bust. Freo have themselves to blame. Should of taken English or SPP if they were looking to draft a WA product

100%, he was also in a contract year so was defiantly going to walk if we didn't give him games. He's not a forward.

I'd still rank Tabs & Lobb ahead of Treacy but one is improving while the other two are on the downturn.

If Logue had grown even a couple of centimetres he would actually be an absolute beast KPD. Unfortunately he never really grew from his draft year and is therefore going to be undersized for his career, which is why he couldn't really nail down a spot in our back 6

Same haight didn't stop Rance from winning 5 AA...

Well there we go
Told ya.

There was an article yesterday about the young fella Peris delisted by Saints. He is training for a SSP spot from 27 Nov. According to the article the SSP commences from 27 Nov.

Expect Sharp to commence training (provided AFL approval) post drafts and then selected from 27 Nov when the SSP formally commenced.

As I said two posters with connections to Sharp family and Ryan Daniels all said he will be in Freo colours.

You can kinda tell which posters are attracted to men. Anyone really excited for Sharp cant be for playing ability.
Outrageous accusation. Dude is pretty, sure, but he's from East Fremantle and can run all day.

You projecting your homoerotic fantasies out into the world is all fine and dandy, but you have to factor in the bloodlines. He is from the Breeding Ground of Champions.

So East Fremantle + Good runner = Full time AFL player! 😯

The real interest in the next couple of weeks:
  • Do we trade up in ND to get a slider and what do we give up.
  • Does Mitch Edwards make it to pick 41 and if so do we match bid (if so do we make them make 4 ND selections instead of 3)
  • Do we hold back one rookie selection (two likely at this stage) and leave one available for SSP/MSD.

There is no lesser amount of investment that Fremantle can make to have Jeremy Sharp available to play in a position we have a big hole in.

I like the idea that Sharp and Stanley are both playing on the wing/half forward for us during this year because we effectively would have used two bonus rookie slots to get them.

The risk/reward potential for Sharp is so high that the chance that it amounts to absolutely nothing is not a problem to me at all. Even three years on a rookie list for zero games. Doesn't matter to me.

If he plays a handful of games for Freo in 2024 we are already well ahead on that deal.
