Why would you give away top end talent and start again when all we need is to have a decent game plan and execute it? And re Dow. I know where he was drafted. Can't just blame the club, player needs to take most of the blame for not becoming elite as a pick 3
I think having talent on a list is a great starting point for success. Developing the talent is the key to premiership success. To date, the latter has eluded us and needs to be rectified.
I don't know enough about Dow's attitude but I could expect him to be a bit disillusioned with 3 coaches and muliple assistants during his time at the club, providing different messages for instance. I would like to know when we've had a really good example of developing a kid, drafted mid draft who's exceeded expectation because of our exceptional development program.
Our 'game plan' is to trade from elsewhere, rather than develop from within.
