Watched Quinton Narkle at the Essendon VFL on the weekend, he looks clearly a step above VFL. He's only 25 and looked like a real athlete for the first time in his career on the weekend. Could be a high half forward or even play midfield.

Any early thought of 2023 mid season draft prospects

Barring any major injuries to key players I'd like us to look for a skillful, pressuring small forward. Beau Tedcastle from our VFL side could be one to watch. Lachie Johnson too.

edit: Sorry slugger68 I didn't realise this wasn't the Richmond board :straining:

Probably a bit early considering the WAFL and SANFL haven't played a game yet.

Nonetheless, Sam Lowson who was previously on the MSD radar kicked 5 goals for North's VFL side on the weekend. Ethan Phillips was one of the best for Port Melbourne with 15 disposals and 9 marks.

Flynn Gentile had 29 disposals, 10 tackles and kicked a goal for Coburg.

None of the overage players in the Coates league like Jovan Petric or Rye Penny really dominated (looking at the stats) in round 1.

I feel Pescud and Foote put their hands up with dominant stat lines for Southport.

The best performed overager in the Coats league was probably Ryan Maric.

I’m lead to believe that Lachie Sullivan (Footscray VFL) will cross the T’s and dot the I’s this time and be available.
Yep - very close in the rookie draft last year too

Few guys im liking the look of at VFL level already this year,

Jye Chalcraft (177cm, 20 y.o, mid, Geelong VFL)
Zavier Maher (196cm, 21 y.o, mid, Carlton VFL)
Campbell Hustwaite (185cm, 23 y.o, mid, Collingwood VFL)
Jedd Longmire (188cm, 18 y.o, fwd, Collingwood VFL)
Zac Foot (181cm, 23 y.o, fwd, Southport)
Ethan Phillips (195cm, 23 y.o, def, Port Melbourne)
Jedd Rule ( 195cm, 19 y.o, KPF, Box Hill Hawks)
Brandon Ryan (188cm, 19 y.o, Fwd, Northern Bullants)
Paul Pascu (183cm, 19 y.o, mid/def, Northern Bullants)
Noah Gown (194cm, 24 y.o, KPF, Sandringham)
Quinton Narkle (182cm, 26 y.o, mid, Essendon VFL)

Probably missed a couple but these are a few im keeping an eye on..

Particualrly like the work of Jedd Rule, 4.1 in the first round against a strong Swans VFL line up. I have always liked the way Hustwaite goes about it and Maher has all the tools to 'make it' at the next level imho. Brandon Ryan is another who many should keep an eye on also in a poor Bullants side.

Unfortunately Maher did his knee in Rnd 1 and will miss the remainder of the season

Mitch Hardie has had a fantastic start.

32 & 2 goals game 1.

30 & 2 goals in his second game this year.

Looks really sharp too.

Take a look at Shaun Mannagh from Werribee

Ryley Stoddart has started out the season well for Frankston and looks to have added some bulk to his frame. Left footers are always valued in recruiting circles. If he maintains this sort of form I could see him getting another opportunity.
