You're not seriously trying to say Berry, Crouch,Schoenberg, Pedlar are on the same level right?

I'm not saying they're bad I'm just saying Macrae is a bad example as our midfield was full of top end talent whereas yours isn't and Laird is still the best by farNah ...just biting at the suggestion, we're that bad .....which of course we have been
But, also a big difference in age & experience
West AdelaideMy point was, and you're absolutely correct .....but adding Rankine, and another year of maturation in others, will reduce the dependence on Laird & thus his scoring will be impactedI'm not saying they're bad I'm just saying Macrae is a bad example as our midfield was full of top end talent whereas yours isn't and Laird is still the best by far

Rankine will take some of the Crouch/Keays time Schoenberg/Berry already started getting a lot at the back end of the year which didn't effect LairdMy point was, and you're absolutely correct .....but adding Rankine, and another year of maturation in others, will reduce the dependence on Laird & thus his scoring will be impacted
The last SIM ....Rankine and Schoenberg were often streaming out of ball-ups ....last year, it was always Laird
What crows have missed for years, the inside mid to give it to a jet on the outside. The last SIM ....Rankine and Schoenberg were often streaming out of ball-ups ....last year, it was always Laird
I think you've missed the point.Macrae had Bont/Libba/Dunkley/Smith/Treloar not the mediocre names listed for Adelaide
If anyone can play with a niggle it's Crippa, blokes a warrior. As long as he plays round one it shouldn't put anyone off picking him.
Nah last I heard he was in a moon boot and was looking very ginger. I’d a hundred percent not pick him based on that, nup. Will most likely end up in the ruck again when our chumps break down and he will be swallowed whole by Hodor.Hopefully a few drop him and he becomes a bit of a pod

West AdelaideHe's still a speculative pick & too highly priced to gamble on ......however, he'll get discussed on the board, as the year progress's ......he is electric with his play currentlySo why aren't you starting Rankine, Wayne?
Currently my F4.So why aren't you starting Rankine, Wayne?
Absolute rubbish. What have you seen that suggests Laird, current AFC club champion having played on-ball, will be pulled from the midfield to play of half back?I don't think it's quite the same argument though, MT. Melbourne are playing for a top-four berth, and Oliver is still only 25 (and can't play anywhere else). Adelaide are still a young team that won't realistically be pushing for finals, and need to give their young guys the chance to develop. At 29, it's extremely doubtful that Laird will play a meaningful role in Adelaide's next flag, plus as we've seen before, Laird is a more than competent HB. He won't start there, but my concern is that in the back half of the year, his CBA% will begin dropping off.
Curious about this as well. Clearly the main man in the middle for Hawthorn and surely someone has to score points for them outside Moore/Sicily. Don’t think Worpel or the other young mids are a threat. I’ve currently got him sitting at M4.Been thinking about Newcombe seeing as the hawks midfield is so weak otherwise. Going at 84% by foot with 25 disposals with 20 minutes remaining.
Any way he could hit 110 average or is that wishful thinking?
Wow, welcome to the SuperCoach board! You'll quickly find that this isn't the MB, and folks around here don't tend to get all cut up about people talking about their club.Absolute rubbish. He's 29, not 34. Have a spell.
Could not have been more impressed with Worpel today. No Titch now. Someone talk me out of him.
Crouch playing feeds into my theory that Laird will get thrown around a bit this year. They've got Laird, Berry, Schoenberg, Crouch, Pedlar, Soligo, Rankine and (to a lesser extent) Sloane, Rachele and Keays all in need of midfield minutes. I'm certain he'll spend a bit of time on the flanks throughout the year - he'll still almost certainly be a top-10 mid, but I can't bring myself to drop $700k on him.
As a general rule, experienced mids in young, bad teams are often a risk. As soon as they're out of finals contention, quite often they'll prioritise midfield minutes for the kids (see Adelaide with Keays last year).
Anyone starting all of Ashcroft, Phillips & Mackenzie? Tempted to go with 4 premo a + hopper / worpel + the three premo 3 rooks after Mackenzie’s performance last night.
Possibly, most pressing need is to work out The Daicos Conundrum. That will guide things. Downgrading a premo mid might be the answer.Anyone starting all of Ashcroft, Phillips & Mackenzie? Not too sure he will. Love him as a player but I can't see him averaging over 100 especially when opposition will probably put a fair bit of work into him because of how key he is for us.Been thinking about Newcombe seeing as the hawks midfield is so weak otherwise.
