Was there any nerve or artery damage?

Dunno, just read this report

leveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) suffered a gruesome injury on Monday night in the team's 26-22 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Head coach Kevin Stefanski shortly announced after the game that Chubb would be out for the season with a knee injury. The road to recovery is a long one for the star running back, and he could undergo two separate knee surgeries, according to NFL Insider Josina Anderson. Anderson said there have been "initial discussions" of it, with the first surgery coming "within the next 7-10 days, and the second occurring several weeks after." Nothing has been confirmed yet

Chubb looking like hes going to need two seperate surgeries to put his knee back together.
Any suspension coming for the hit? I've been a bit out of the loop.

Players go low all the time when tackling RBs. If you suspended someone for this youre opening yourself up for a lot of suspensions. Just an unfortunate incident imo.

RB's, TE's and big body WR's have been talking about it for 15 years. Ever since the NFL started to protect the head. They have all said they would rather get hit high then low. the most vocal on it was Gronk not that him getting head injuries would be noticeable.

Yeah Pitts and Godwin two other recent examples of injuries from similar tackles, weren't as gruesome as Chubb's but the tacklers helmet ****ed up their knee both times also.

May not yet be valid for a suspension but it's absolutely not just an unfortunate incident.

He's targeted the knee while Chubb was in a vulnerable position. How many other star players have to miss football before they rightfully change the rules on this?

Without introducing a strike box like on a QB where you cant go low or high its hard to avoid. and then you handcuff the defenders even more with the size of some of the RB's and TEs now.

Until a top 5 QB cops it, it wont change. RB's and TEs are expendable in the eyes of owners.

and you cant go low on a QB in the pocket anyway. the Tom Brady rule from 09

Makes it awfully hard to try and adjudicate , not like its a stationary QB in the pocket, RBs go low to try and run over defensive players also

These aren't really a QB incident though. I doubt Chubb even saw him coming, especially at that height.

It's just so unnecessary and disappointing. But mostly, it's entirely avoidable.

and you are taught low man wins as a defender.

They don't go low to the point of hitting defensive players in the knees though...

Absolutely they do
Fitzpatrick is just about laying down at the moment he collides with the knee.

I'd love to see footage of a RB doing that to a defender. I'll happily concede if you can show me that.

have you never seen a cut block. or chop block. They are on almost every outside screen. OLB's cop them multiple times a game.

What do you think the Jets OT tried to do on the play that Rodgers did his achilleas?

and all the DB's who get concussed in games because they cop a knee to the helmet are trying the same.

This kind of play would be seen 5-10 times a game. It was sadly just a freak injury with Chubbs leg planted and couldnt go back.

It also is the cause of every clip where a player ends up flipping over someone.

Im not going to trawl through footage to find an example , its a dog eat dog world, if you dont go low as a defender an opposing offensive player will do it to you.

Fans seem to be flocking back to Washington now that Dan Snyder is out of the building. 👍
I hope this is the start of a new era for them, and I can't help wondering if they'll mark it with a new name as soon as they are able. Personally, I'd go for the Washington Senators, but the Washington Football Team sounded pretty good!

That's a hell of a backfield. I imagine the Browns being really easy to cheer for should they sign him

The Chubb injury sucks, he was the only redeemable thing about that team.

He's already 27 years old - as a running back he's at an age where he's close to finished regardless of any major injury.

I really expect we might've seen the last of him. At least, I think we've seen the last of him as an effective, explosive power back.
